Not rating but if I did it would have been low. I found this insufferable. I don't think these authors are for me.

"Reading and loving books are the fingerprints of who I am – no matter how much I change, they'll stay the same, betraying me to myself for the rest of my life."

This book is an interesting look into the lives of authors. I enjoyed the behind the scenes type of story. It's a slow burn, character driven, dramatic romance.

"There's no truth to these pages, but the trick of fiction is to make you think there is. I let myself fall for it as often as I can."

I loved the tertiary character Harriet the most. Her personality was a wonderful addition to the drama unfolding between the two main characters.

"I'm done living my life waiting for the best time."

There is just a dash of spice in the story. I'm not sure if it warrants one full

It was cute; just what you think it will be from the description.

This book really did a lot for me. I loved the clever meta use of co-authors writing co-authors and exploring the blurred lines between fiction and reality, especially as different writers perceive them. Chris SUCKED. I mean really sucked. I couldn’t believe how long it took Kat to come to her senses with him but I was really delighted when she did. I also loved the aspects of mental health and the fear of passing the point of achieving dreams robbing life of purpose or giving someone more to lose. The topic is relatable, relevant, and really meaningful to have in the book. This was a great quick and lovely read!

I really just want to know how much of this book was based on the authors' actual lives, which I guess is the whole point they were making throughout the book. Super cool concept for a romance book, especially because I didn't hate the flashbacks.

I enjoyed this book! I'm surprised the ratings are as low as they are, my only complaint was that it got a bit repetitive in the middle. I thought that the FMC was kind of unlikeable, but she seemed to have a bit of growth and she was dealing with some mental health issues, so I support her being a little unlikeable at times. There was only one moment where I was genuinely frustrated with her. I really liked Nathan as the male lead though.

An interesting look into what it takes to be co-authors. A good story about love, heartache, and writing.
