1.5 ! this book to me was equivalent to watching the “After”movies like it’s terrible yet there’s a part of me that still wants to tune in to the next one because wow WTH is going on

It was complicated story to say the least. I was super excited but some of the things that were said/done were so intense that I was quite literally hornswoggled with the idea of even giving these two a chance.

This may be my favorite Monica Murphy book yet. I went in nervous because I’d heard Whit was super mean, and I’m not into that. But, I didn’t mind it. I read a lot of enemies to lovers books and while he’s a complete ba$stard, Summer held her own for the most part, and he showed his soft side from time to time. I knew what was going on with his sister, and his mother is a real piece of work (so is hers), but I love Monty. The romance was rough, yet sweet, and the sex is off the charts. A really great book!

Audiobook (audible) - HS romance stars when they’re 14 with her mom screwing his father and tearing his family apart. He blames her and her mother for his family drama, and when she turns up at his school he fights his obsession with her through bullying. Weeks pass and it turns to more and more but his mom and sister tear them apart. After 18 months he finds her again and does everything he can to keep her for life. Great story with some decent character development, but mostly predictable moments.
