Oh my God that prologue! I could feel the words pulling at the strings connected to my heart! The author really captured the feelings here, it makes me wonder what happened and desperate to find out!
Poor Cole. He's holding a lot of anger and sadness. He comes face to face with Thea when she's forced back home. Cole has so much love for Thea, and almost as much anger with everything that happened.
Poor Thea who holds a secret. You can feel how much these 2 are in pain. This is a small town where everyone knows your business
I like the way the author uses her words to describe feelings . Normally I would feel like there's too many words used or they don't need to be so unique but with this writing it works, everything flows so nicely and it feels like so much thought has been put into Cole and Thea's story. There's something about the words that pulls you in.
This story tackles some serious issues that could be triggering for some. And while this is a work of fiction, I really like how the author has used these topics to shed light on some of the real issues that we face.
Cole is incredibly supportive and he does as much as he can knowing Thea has to meet him halfway.
This is a story about two people in love trying to overcome the obstacle of celebrity status, when Cole is a small town boy. His character growth is noticeable in the way he treats Thea and how he is a little more guarded. She needs to learn to trust him and I did find that frustrating the way she didn't, but again, the way Maisie tackles this too, is really well done.
It shows what can happen when the people closest to you make you believe things that aren't true. It shows how hard it can be to overcome certain issues in life and how hard it can be to know the right balance of support to give to someone without pushing them too hard.
I loved that this book was about real life things that people deal with every day, and as someone that's suffered themselves in a different way, I find myself relating to the story. It's not an overnight fix and it takes hard work and a drive to want to make things better. Maisie has written this so beautifully and I'm honoured to have been a part of her ARC team.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book from Maisie Myers and Wordsmith Publicity. This is the first book I’ve read by Maisie and it definitely won’t be my last.
Teenage love that fragile and easily destroyed by outside interference. Cole and Thea had loved each other since they were children. After graduation, Thea leaves to chase her dreams of being an actress in LA and breaks Cole’s heart. She becomes a famous actress but never forgets Cole. It takes six years for her to return to Tupelo, Oklahoma, and she only does because her father dies. Can Cole forgive Thea for leaving him behind? Can Thea tell Cole the real reason behind her leaving? Can they ever trust each other again?
I found this book to be a quick read. It had just enough spice to keep me interested. It was a bit heavy at time, be sure to check trigger warnings. I quickly fell in love with Pine Ridge Farm, and I can’t wait to read more.

This is the first book I've read by this author. The story takes place in a relatively short time and is full of details that takes the reader on a journey.
This is a story that fits into many categories; from second changes to small town romance and while some of the story is obvious it is written a fresh way.
