Is this a surreal story about a man who transforms into a bug? Is it a metaphor for someone having a mental breakdown? You be the judge. In any case, The Metamorphosis is a harrowing tale.

the length of this novel is perfect. the beginning places readers at the very start of the line with no unnecessary background, which is a massive plus. immersion happens very very quickly with the way this is read.
its a quick classic that i feel i can reread again a few more times and may even like it even more each time.
