Loved it. A story of loss told through music. Really good read if you have lost somebody close.
This took me a long time to get through, but I'm so glad I did. It describes grief more accurately than just about anything I have ever read, and THE MUSIC. I truly loved it, and somewhere there is a mix tape that captures that feeling exactly.

This book was so great. If you love music and especially the 90s it is for you. And I miss good old music tapes. Very nice reminder that love also can be shared by music.
Ripped my heart out and threw it on the ground. A beautiful story about love, growth and the impact of great music. With each song he mentioned I also wanted to listen to them again as it was a lot of the same music I grew up on, haha. I loved the way he described the different chapters in his life in relation to the music he listened to or didn't listen to. Full of emotion and a lot of insight I enjoyed this story immensely.
I really loved this book, but it was possibly the saddest thing I have ever read. Consider yourself warned.
I love this book. It was sad to read about the death of the author's wife, but it was great to go down music memory lane. I smiled when I came upon a song I knew and remembered that time in the past. It was a good book and I look forward to reading more from this author

This was a reread and still one of my favorite books of all time.
I needed a delightful book and this fit the bill. Anyone who grew up on 80'+90's music and the romance of the mix tape will enjoy this one...very nostalgic. Also a touching love story. Thumbs up on both accounts. Doesn't hurt either that I enjoy Rob Sheffield's Rolling Stones contributions!
I could not put this book down. For anyone who's ever made a mix tape, and really, who hasn't?, or for those who simply just love music, this book should resonate. I found that I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter so I could see what songs would be on the next tape. Sheffield writes with a poignant humor, and I just found myself cheering him on the whole ride.
