He's one of the greatest characters ever created for TV so of course I like this book and the insight of the person Dale is before Twin Peaks takes place. That show is my life...

Loved rereading this book. It reminded me of my youth and how fascinated I was by Twin Peaks. I liked how quirky his personality also is in this book.

An absorbing and effortlessly dark look into the eccentric life of Special Agent Dale Cooper. I found the tie-ins to the series and the voice characterization fruitful and accurate. I usually find this kind of text trite, but I'm on a TV binge and book pairing at this moment thanks to the resurgence of the series... And, to waste no time being intellectual, this was a cool read.

After finishing the secret diary of Laura Palmer, this is the next stop for the fans of the world of Twin Peaks. This autobiography is written in diary style, but this time the author is Mark Frost's brother. The book is written in sarcastic tone, at some parts witty and desolate at others. It's a good sneak peak into the life of the special agent dale cooper with some ties to the show but personally I felt the Laura Palmer one to be more compelling, mystified and rich in context than this one. I know that this book has a lot of sentimental value for the fans but that doesn't justify it's weaknesses so my rating is 2.5 stars for it.

Fantastic read! Written like teenage Dale was talking right to you, I was hooked! It was so funny too but poor Coop he went through so much loss.

Loved it!

Diane I have just finished reading My Life My Tapes The Autobiography of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper.

As a rule I don't read EU fiction as I see it as a silly waste of time at best, and corpse raping at the worst (I'm looking at you spawn of Herbert). However, as I am a Twin Peaks superfan, the book was only 200 pages long, and it cost me a grand total of 25 cents at the garage sale I bought it at, I figured there wasn't a whole lot to lose.

Over all it was a pleasant experience and went well with some good coffee and pie. There where even a few scenes that succeeded in imitating the inimitable Lynch. However, even at its relatively short length the book felt somewhat repetitive. On the whole a surprisingly pleasant experience. If not one I'm likely to revisit again.

Interesting short novel detailing the now semi-canonical early life of Dale Cooper. I understand he was a teenager too at one time but wow this book is incredibly sexual, which can be funny and/or poignant/emotional at times but the sheer volume of the content is a bit strange considering the original run was mostly without such things (necessitated by the network TV format). I loved the moments between Cooper and his mother, and what seem to be
the tendrils of the Black Lodge reaching out
earlier than we may perhaps have thought, but the pacing is too brisk to really breathe in any of these intriguing plot points so as such it's more a series of thinly connected tidbits.
