the writing is so awkward and cringe; it reminds me of a poorly written fan fiction.

Is this the best hockey romance I've read? No.

Honestly, this was the light and fluffy version of a typical hockey romance. I feel like everything about this book kind of glazed over the surface of everything. It was cute for sure, but that's about it. I found myself wishing that everything had been taken just a step or two further.

I'd recommend the book if you're looking for something fun and light, but if you love hockey romances, maybe stay away from this one. This kind of felt like the imitation krab version of a hockey romance.

Honestly, it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Some of the writing was annoying, and the way Trina was describing the guys was a bit weird. Idk man

Its a special skill to spin a basic premise that should be spicy and forbidden and exciting and tension-filled into something so poorly paced and bland that it's basically unpalatable.

Really had to push through to finish this snooze fest.

I had higher hopes for this book, well, for this series, but it just fell flat. I'm going to finish the series because I can't leave it at just one book, but I'm not going to binge-read to finish them in under a week. There was basically no plot. It was sex for the sake of sex, threesomes, and steam, but I had a lot of WTF moments.

First of all, I don't understand threesomes. To each their own, but it's not my jam. That said, I can indulge in some smutty trio literature for the fun of it if I see there is an endgame to the story. This one was highly unlikely and a head-scratcher.

We have Trina, a bookstore manager who discovers her boyfriend cheated on her with the neighbor. She breaks up with him and decides to steal his VIP hockey tickets/experience when she packs up her things to move out of his apartment. She attends the VIP hockey event and meets Chase and Ryker, who happen to be her ex's favorite players. Chase and Ryker have been friends since childhood when they played pee-wee hockey together and their families know each other and basically all grew up together. Now, as adults, they both play for the NHL but for rival teams that are located in the same city. They meet Trina at the VIP event and are both smitten by her. After some friendly and cordial chit-chat, they discover that her ex cheated on her and was horrible at giving her orgasms. As good samaritans they must offer their services to fix that injustice but, hey, they have been best buds since the age of 6, so the only natural thing would be to share her body and satisfy her sexual desires at the same time, despite never having participated in a threesome together nor ever mentioning they may be interested in doing so.
It turns out that Trina is a very kinky girl and is open to trying everything in the week that she will be staying with Chase and Ryker. During that time, not only does she bond with both sexually, but she bonds individually with both by sharing 1:1 time doing activities they have in common (dog-walks, bookstores and libraries). Neither Chase nor Ryker get jealous while sexually satisfying Trina, they actually enjoy encouraging and guiding each other to increase her pleasure. However, there is some jealousy in the bonding that she has with each of them outside of the bedroom because for all three of them, emotions are starting to develop and they are all secretly wishing that this "arrangement" can last more than just the week they had originally talked about.

It's weird. Once their families start to see them together, they all start to guess as to what kind of relationship they have and everyone is just fine with it. Not to mention their teammates and friends. No one has questions other than, "Do they both double-dip at the same time"? Chase and Ryker are all about "sharing is caring", never once mentioning how they have known each other for 20+ years, and, yes, they have seen each other naked in the locker room but never had an orgasm around each other. Not to mention the "Trina is a goddess" mentality they both have and need to shower her with orgasms, food, and gifts, and she is just ok with it (girl, we all like gifts, but you are taking the whole "spoiling me" mentality to a new level). Some of it was really cringy. The way Trina tried to think romantically about them when we all know she just liked the orgasms, the way they kept putting her on a pedestal, or the way they talked about and talked to her, ex-boyfriend. Talk about your over-possessive male alpha's.

This is the first Lauren Blakely book I have read and, I had high hopes for the series. My ego won't let me just quit on it but I'm not sure when I will power through the rest. It wasn't a DNF but I took 4 days to consume the book when I usually read something like this in under 30 hours.

Listen, this book is exactly what you think it is when you pick it up and read the description. And if you like a MFM hockey romance, you will like this one.
