2.5-3? Can't tell if difficult to keep up with, or my brain fuzzy with either covid, strep throat, URI? Telemedicine couldn't test bc 2.5 days ice storm closed entire county, barely got scripts before they shut down. Probably should have read Stephanie Plum lol, sorry Stone B!

I may have rated it higher but can one guy be so sexually irresistible that women want to fall into bed with him the first time they meet him? Well, besides James Bond.

This is a very trashy and enjoyable read about How the Other Half Lives in mid-90s New York high society, and a less enjoyable and more irritating read about how the main character's very presence makes women take off their clothes.

I normally don't read this genre, but I'm happy I was introduced to Stone Barrington! He continues to be New York's James Bond. The suspense was perfect t and I can't wait to read what happens next!

The detective stuff is actually really good, it's an easy 4-star book if rated purely as a crime novel but sadly about 60% of this is actually hilariously bad soft-core male fantasy porn. I'm pretty sure Stone Barrington fucked every single female character in this book bar one, and that was only because she wasn't ranked as one of the most beautiful women in New York like all the others.

The sexism is rampant. From big to small, including the main character preferring younger women.
