Well written, the author is a very talented writer and story teller. That’s about all the good I have to say about this book.
I finished this book out of spite. It’s been on my reading list for years, I really thought it was going to be the best book considering the incredible title. But the book wasn’t anything like that. What could have been a thoughtful critique on why it’s not wise to marry and breed young was instead weirdly racist boy obsessed and relationship focused book. It’s also very odd the author used the title, but still wanted kids of their own and even went so far as to freeze their eggs. I just couldn’t get over the weird racism, the pro israeli narrative, pro war, sexualizing colonizers and conquistadors, and having a weird white savio/exotic foreigner perspective. I really had high hopes for this book given the title. But it really was just bad, well written, bad content. Bummer.

Sincere and sincerely funny and inspiring, Kristin Newman's tale of "vacationships" is a fun read and one that made me a) glad I didn't sleep with a lot of guys when I traveled in the past (I just don't have the guts for it), and b) want to travel more soon.

Entertaining and comical but was expecting it to be funnier.

Super fun book; Kristin Newman's comedic voice is funny and entertaining (as you might expect from a sitcom writer) and there are some heartfelt epiphanies interwoven throughout the stories as well.

The title implies that it could be a wonderful book about how she traveled and learned about the world instead of staring a family. This book is about traveling but it’s about traveling while getting over relationships that could have potentially worked and about hooking up in other places as a way to make herself feel better about the relationships not working out. I didn’t learn anything about the different cultures and none of what was presented in the book made me want to go anywhere she had gone and I have travelled to some of those places.

She is an excellent writer and has a good way of telling her stories about each adventure, which is why I kept reading. I was a little disappointed but maybe this just wasn’t the right book for me.

Thank you, Kristen Newman. I'm getting my passport, and Greece is only my first stop. Not my only one.
