really loved this book. took me through a range of emotions. only 4 stars bc FUCK the tiaras, it was way too distracting. the last 15 or so chapters were an absolute rollercoaster and i hate the way the book ended. they should’ve lived happily ever after :(
I’m sorry but what???? Is that it? Is there like a sequel? I feel robbed.
I’m torn between 2-3 stars…
Edited to add: not a sequel but an alt perspective coming in October. I will read it but I wonder how I’ll feel about it.

Didn’t enjoy this that much nothing interesting really happened and this whole situation could’ve been avoided if Finny and Autumn just communicated. I didn’t really like Autumn either I couldn’t connect with none of the characters and it just felt super flat to me. I’ll admit I was rooting for them towards the end but they obviously weren’t going to be together since he died (not a spoiler it’s mentioned on the first page) I didn’t like the friend group either and as much as I love ya books I didn’t enjoy this one honestly I don’t think I like sad books in general lol.
A drama YA that fell short and dry. You’re reading from the perspective of the main girl character and she’s growing up and going through school and eventually young adult hood. She battles depression and has conflicting feelings about relationships and sex. This wasn’t good to me. This is a skip for me.
Also Autumn was the epitome of pick me girls. She wore crowns and sat at the teachers desk for special attention. She wanted her Finny to fight for her. Broken home made her sad. This was like the holy grail of I can’t possibly be like them so don’t you love me more.

I had high hopes for this book. Maybe because it was one I’ve wanted to read for a while, but I am thoroughly disappointed.
I found the almost all of the characters to be dull and Autumn annoyed me more than anything. She talked more about Finny then she did her own boyfriend.
Autumn is whiny and I wouldn’t say sheltered per se, but I found normal things scared her and it was just really annoying. It felt like a typical high school experience and the only part I kind of felt something, was at the end.
Autumn goes through each chapter talking about Finny, but it’s different every time. Sometimes she’ll call him Finn, Finny and Phineas all in the same chapter and I just don’t understand why the author couldn’t just stick to one nickname.
It was well written, don’t get me wrong. Nothing against the author as well, but this book just wasn’t for me. It made me feel nothing, if I’m being completely honest.
Maybe I will like the Finn’s version of this book better. We will have to wait and see!

This book was sad just for the sake of being sad, and I don’t like books like that. I knew from the first chapter how it would end and yet, I still read through it hoping to be wrong. I wish I was wrong. Oh, and I finished it in a day
