This is the last book I read for the year of 2021! I actually really liked the concept of this book. Good versus evil. Light versus dark. Bringing in the whole devil aspect was really interesting to me and the main characters having to really test their morals. I’m not sure why this book gets so much hate and negative reviews but I will say that the ending really wasn’t necessary. When there is about five pages left I felt like they could’ve left it at that but they added some thing that I thought was just corny.
I probably finished at least 80% of this book before I decided that I loved myself too much to keep torturing myself by forcing myself to finish it. I used to have this thing were I had to force myself to finish books before reviewing them but I didn't finish this book, nor will I attempt to. when I first started it, the premise seemed so promising, even more so because it was written by two "master" writers for the genre type (though not that you can tell from this disaster). yep, this book goes under disaster. The characters were such a jumbled mess as well as the house setting. Honestly there was no plot for such a huge portion of this book other than strangers fighting and being shady of one another. The only reason I read ad much of it as I did was because I was hoping the ending would be salvable, but according to many of these reviews I made a smart decision in not continuing.
Hated this book. Such a boring ending, goodness...you would think that two of the most famous Christian "suspense" authors would be able to make something more original than this.

This is the best Frank Peretti book I have ever read. It is really scary, confusing, and disturbing all at the same time. It is my favorite horror/thriller. Just don't read it at night. AHHHHH!!!!
weird. interesting. what is happening? I couldn't stop listening.
I wasn't crazy about this book. It drug on forever and was just fairly creepy.
I liked it, it was really scary at times and unpredictible. I would like to see the movie that came out a few years ago.
