This is one of those books where the more I think about it, the lower my opinions on it get. So at first glance and without thinking too hard, this was a quick, enjoyable read!

I enjoyed Gaston (despite all of the red flags, but we'll let those go for romance reasons), and the first chapter was fantastic and really sucked me in. I was looking for more of that! But in the end, not much happens? It's less of a story-driven "plot" (and I feel bad for saying this, but I really am using the word "plot" loosely here) and more of a look into the lives of these two for a few weeks. Everything moves incredibly fast, Chrissie cries a lot, and I really disliked the storyline with the father.

Honestly, outside of there not being much of a plot, my biggest upset with this book were two phrases. One was, "'I don't mind parking out here, and it's not like I'm walking a mile in the dark through the ghetto to get into the building,'..." The second was, "I sit Indian-style with my back to the headboard,..."

This was published in 2020. There are other ways to word those two phrases without using antiquated, offensive (racist) descriptors. Let's do better.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to the author and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book and I'm sorry for the delay in my reading/reviewing; it's been a bit of a year!

Another great book in this series from this new to me author! This story of Gaston "Gus" and Chrissie is sexy, emotional and swoon-worthy. I loved meeting Chrissie in the first book as Leah's bestfriend and couldn't wait to read her story, curious to see how it would unfold and I was not disappointed. Gaston had me from the beginning with his determination to catch Chrissie's attention by proving he wasn't the player she thought he was. Get ready to have your heart fluttering from these two who were meant to be!

Read via audiobook. Not your typical romance, as they get together quickly. A little ‘drama’, but most of the story is about their swoon worthy romance. Not too dirty

Chrissie is out with her best friend for her bachelorette party when she accidentally bumps into a drool worthy man who she knows would hold no interest in her. She couldn't be more wrong and when Gaston pursues her she is not sure if she can give him a chance. Gaston knows there is something special about Chrissie but the timid beauty has her reasons why she thinks he is too good to be true, but maybe he is the perfect match for her, now he needs to prove it.

This was a terrific addition to the series. Chrissie is a hard working owner of a bakery and she has kind of let life pass her by at times as she is so busy. Gaston becomes that anchor that has Chrissie realizing she needs to make some changes. Gaston was a swoon worthy hero who you want to read more about. Excellent read.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first book in the series. In this second book, Leah's best friend Chrissie finds her true love. She meets Gaston ( whose dog is named LeFou, so CUTE) who owns several bars in the area. Chrissie owns a bakery called Sweet Spot. They meet and fall in love. Pretty simple stuff and not much happens in terms of the plot, but it is a really adorable story and very enjoyable. Gaston is a gentleman and he and Chrissie are adorable together.

ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this one more than the others I’ve read from this author so far. No insta-love but insta-attraction which is realistic. I loved how they built their love step after step, it felt organic. I still can’t believe the hero’s name is Gaston and his mother called his adorable dog LeFou it was hilarious

Bonus point: I love this cover so much!!!!
