I LOVED book 1 The Record Keeper but this one did not continue the story well. The storyline itself picks up a few years after book 1, it's confusing and disjointed. Nothing happens for such a long time so when something finally does its super predictable. The ending was not predictable at all but makes absolutely no sense. Is it about inevitability? Is it saying we have no free will? What the eff was the point of this book? Book 1 I highly recommend but book 2 is a weird fever dream acid trip and a disappointment imo. I binged it in the hope that it would pick back up but idk. Meh.

This book follows a girl as she finds herself in a country that she loves. She must concur her inner demons and put the past behind her in order to help her people but this proves to be a more difficult task than you’d expect.
