Aside from all of the toxic relationships including between the main characters (guys, go see a counselor!), it wasn't terrible. This book does imply that a relationship with the right person can heal/fix you, so I definitely think you should have already experienced some heartbreak before reading it. That being said, the general themes especially with the MMC felt fresh and new, and the pacing was pretty good.  I'm curious to see where she takes the series.

3.5 ⭐

this was a cute read.

i really enjoyed reading about ro and freddy's friendship, how they started to trust each other and found themselves developing feelings for each other.

i liked reading about how freddy dealt with his grief, because it made him feel real and i saw myself reflected in a lot of thoughts that he had.

ro was one of the sweetes characters that i've read, i just wanted to give her a hug and tell her everything was going to be okay.

SPOILER: i liked seeing how she ended up doing the things that she wanted to accomplish since the beginning.

what i didn't like was that we didn't get to see much of their relationship as a couple, and we saw too much of tyler and ro's previous relationship.

there where a lot of things that were lacking of information that maybe some people may not care but i do and i think that's why i ended up giving this book 3.5 stars.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where as I’ve gotten to know the characters more, they’ve had less personality. But here we areee. In book 1, Freddy was so funny and charismatic. In book 1, Ro was such a strong & great friend. In this book? They regressed. He became every other overprotective frat bro and she became an innocent baby. Bizarre. I was going to power through, but when Freddy was thinking about how good he was at s*x and literally thought about how his d*ck was “perfect”?! I was out. Do irl men think of themselves this way? & do we like them if they do? Ick for me.

Thank you to Peyton Corinne, Atria Books, and NetGalley for this ARC! I was over the moon to be able to read this story early because Unsteady was one of my favorite reads of 2024! It was so deeply emotional, angsty, and romantic all at once. I adored it and I couldn’t believe it was a debut novel. Needless to say, I was totally buckled in to see what Peyton Corinne would release next. Let me tell you that Unloved did not disappoint!

This series is starting to remind me of the Maple Hills Series in that it’s one of my favorite found families that I have read! Something about a college hockey team is just gonna get me, I fear. They just genuinely care for each other in a deeper way than just teammates. I love to see characters who didn’t have a good support system finally find their people!

The characters were some of the best I have read, genuinely. Ro was such a softy who just needed someone to let her be her true self! Freddy needed someone to show him that he IS loveable in an emotional way. They both were hiding under facades and found themselves in each other. They were so tender hearted and soft!!!!!! I melted for them. We all deserve someone who makes us feel EASY TO LOVE!

There were so amazing scenes in this one that I won’t spoil for you, but just know, that the romance book girlies will swoon. Everyone say thank you to Peyton Corinne because she really fed us with this one.
