This started out really good however as the book progressed I felt that it dragged a bit. Still a good read though.

I wish less was inferred about the transition from Eden to Eli. I also had a har drive getting into this one and it was totally because of the audiobook narrator.
I’d say this was more of a 3 but finished a 4 at the end.
Lucy had twins but only one was born, the male absorbed by the female. Eden lived and Eli disappeared as if he never existed and Lucy never really got over that even though Eden and James (the husband) did.
But then a tragic accident happens and Eden is technically dead but what comes back is not the 14 year old girl they once knew. Now this…person…is being asked to be called Eli and only Lucy is going with it. But James makes her feel like she’s going mad when she discovers things that don’t add up. What is James hiding?
The hero in the end isn’t Lucy.

i read this because i was intrigued with the vanishing twin plot.
this felt like it was trying to do a lot of things in the beginning thru midway or so of it. throughout the experience, i have no idea where the story is heading. i was very intrigued and it felt like i was always on the edge trying to figure out what the big twist is.
at the end of it, it didnt feel so big to me but the ending, including the epilogue, was a nice wrap up. maybe the epilogue wasnt that necessary but either way, it is good for what it is.

This one was creepy and definitely psychological pretty much from beginning to end. I loved the way each characters' secrets and lies unravelled bit by bit right up to the last line. This family is trying hard to look perfect, but all of them are far from it.
