This should've been a dnf...
It was hot, yet the plot was nonexistent, the characters were utterly ridiculous & unrealistic (no man ever would think about bringing make up remover to a 'one night stand' ), and basically nothing happened đ¤ˇđ˝
2 stars for the smut though.

The way I ate this book up so fast. The tension alone between Theo and Avery made me keep wanting more and Q.B. did NOT disappoint. It was so nice seeing the insecurities of both of the main characters too and not just the younger female like you usually do with the age gap genres. I would have liked to see the scene where they told Averyâs dad about the relationship after Lucas was so adamant about being there for it, but thatâs the only minor thing I found fault with.
Run to your TBRâs and put this at the top immediately.

Was in the mood for something fast paced and on the spicy side, this did just that! This s about Avery who has had a crush on her neighbor Theo for year, small problem he is 24 years older and her best guy friendâs dad. While I loved the sneaking around secret relationship I just couldnât get over that big of an age gap. It was definitely a good palette cleanser book which is what I was looking for.
The Worst Kept Secret

Heâs my best friendâs dad, and I shouldnât be crushing this hard. However when I kiss him everything else falls away. Theo Graham is a dream man, and I do not know what got into me but I want him forever now that Iâm older.

This book is definitely not for everyone. I went in with an open mind, and I left it with wanting more books like it. Theo and Avery have a relationship like nothing Iâve read before. I truly loved every second. It gives just the perfect amount of spice (lots of it), and plot. I loved how we got to see each of them dealing with family problems. While also them navigating their relationship in a secret way and while falling deeply in love. I didnât know how that conflict was going to resolve, and truly didnât see it ending that way. I loved these two together so much that I truly wish it was longer. BRB, while I got read more of Q.B. Tyler đ
I have been following the author on instagram for quite some time now. But for some reason, I had never picked up one of her books. Until now!
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I liked the MMC a lot, I love the idea of an Ex-NFL star (especially because Iâve been watching so much football recently). I thought the romance and the spice between the two main characters was done well.
I do think that this would have been better with a little bit more of a slow burn. It just kinda goes from 0 to 100 in the very beginning and I wouldâve liked for it to be a bit more gradual. Also, I enjoyed the amount of page time we got with the characters being together but it didnât really seem like there was a plot until the end.
