funny lighthearted fast-paced

OMFG I had the privilege of listening to this via audio and I just have to say this is definitely steamier than JP and Whitney but definitely less angsty as well.

I like how this starts before the book did but they didn't get serious until she was 21 and finished college. Theo is hot af and I'm here for it. Avery is your typical party girl and Theo is the hot fun dad who everyone enjoys being around. I felt bad for Lucas but I also really disliked how he acted like he had a hold on her even though they were never an item.

Now my biggest pet peeve with this story is the way it ended. It didn't need to be high angst like WWMTB but I expected us to get a reaction scene from either Sean or Rebecca.

Also I expected there to be a pregnancy scene since everyone added that to the trigger warning but it was from a side character so I was definitely confused.

”i’d find you in every lifetime.” ♡₊˚

well… this was disappointing :( i had somewhat high hopes because of the reviews, the fact that this author wrote one of my favorite age gap novellas, and the tropes in this book. with this being a full length novel, i was really excited to see how tyler would write character’s more in depth, build on the relationship, maybe add a more detailed plot, etc.

fun fact: she literally doesn’t do any of that!! this quite literally could have been cut in half for a novella.

firstly, the book starts and we have already missed pivotal aspects of theo and avery’s relationship: their first kiss, mentions of their first “hook up” (even though it does go back and give us the details) and the start of the tension between them. that’s something that bothered me throughout the entire book. what good is a forbidden romance if you don’t get to see the tension and angst in the beginning of the relationship? so from the beginning i was already wildly put off.

secondly, everything else quite literally sucked lol. i have no other way of putting it. they got together within the first like 10% of the book, and the smut wasn’t even that good. yes, there was a lot of it, but i’d rather have a few chapters of good, detailed, high quality smut than every other chapter, repetitive, lowkey cringy smut. i did not believe that theo and avery had any chemistry whatsoever. not at all! they were some of the most bland characters i’ve ever read about. i also got really annoyed with the “we shouldn’t do this/we could really hurt people” thoughts/conversations bc in no way shape or form did either of the characters genuinely sit for a second and try to abide by those thoughts. like have a backbone at least!!!

another thing that irked me, which might be on me bc i didn’t really look up tw’s or anything so this might have been one, but theo has known avery since she was 13, and for some reason there was a lot of mentions about her being underage and having a crush on him/avery basically asking him if he would have done anything when she was younger had he known she liked him. thankfully theo shuts that down pretty quick but it just felt icky to me that a character would even mention something like that. or they’d talk about something when avery was underage and it was just off putting, i guess. i’m no stranger to taboo romances but this felt a little too much for me.

also, theo tells avery that he first started noticing her as a “woman” after he yelled at some guys for making lewd comments about her. immediately after he does that, he looks at avery and starts thinking about those exact lewd comments and that’s when he started lusting after her. that just felt really weird to me. idk. again, probably a personal thing but i really just couldn’t get past it.

this is a very lust driven “romance” and those are not my favorite, typically. so i was really disappointed with this book as a whole. i feel like it had potential, but the execution was just not there

I loved this one so much! Theo and Avery were everything!! They had so much chemistry and were super hot! They also had such a great connection. I didn't want to put this one down for anything. This one might be my new favorite QB book ever!! It was just a perfect steamy read and I honestly can't wait to read it again!!

Best friend’s dad?? Totally here for the mess and the drama with this one! QB writes with a great mix of drama, tension, spice, and emotions. Her books are hot and Avery and Theo’s story is no different. You quickly find yourself rooting for the two of them despite the reasons why they shouldn’t be together. You will find yourself in your feelings along with them during the third act conflict. This book was a fun read, I recommend it to fans of age gap/forbidden romances.

quick, spicy and taboo. I had a great time reading this. I’m beginning to realise that Q.B Tyler might just be the queen of taboo romance. Everything about Avery and Theo was hot. From the forbidden aspect of it to the age gap. These two had me blushing!

Theo and Avery

Theo and his two kids moved in next door to Avery’s family when his son was in 3rd grade?. Since then, all three kids have been best friends, Lucas and Avery especially. Lucas ended up feeling more for Avery than she did in return because Theo caught all her attention. Theo also happens to also be Avery’s dads best friend.

I enjoyed this more than I should

Oh, me, oh my, was this ever steamy. I literally couldn't put it down from the moment I started reading it. The boomed follows our FMC, Avery, and our MMC, Theo. Theo is Avery's neighbour and her best friends father. Welcome Age Gap, forced proximity, and miscommunication. Everything about this (except for the end was soo good). Here are a few minor things I didn't like. 1. The ending felt super rushed and left a lot of unresolved issues. 2. Why does she have daddy issues if her parents have been happily married and taking care of her for years? Regardless, if you are looking for a toe curling read with plot, look no further.
