Not for me. I didn’t believe their emotional connection at all. Someone was drinking in almost every scene and Avery's entire personality (and her friendships) seemed to be based around partying/being young, drunk, and 21. The real kicker was that the entire conflict was resolved off page, with little to no effort on either main character's part. Lucas just magically got over it .

Best friend’s dad is already a tough relationship to navigate but best friend who has had a crush on you for years yet you have feelings for his dad… there’s no way it could work, right???
Avery and Theo have the spice and the chemistry so they shouldn’t want more but of course things can never stay just physical, feelings are inevitable. But how do you keep the one you love without also hurting the person who you’re both closest too?? They hide their relationship because of course that’s best for everyone… but the truth must come out sometime and will they be able to handle to fall out?
For me age gap stories can either be awful or great, no in between, and I think Avery and Theo’s story was great! There were a few moments where you just want to yell at them to be realistic and tell everyone the truth rather than let things explode if it comes out on accident but their stupidity wasn’t enough to kill the story.

Q.B. Tyler did a good job with the best friend's dad trope.
