Did what needed to be done for a smutty lil age gap forbidden romance

Avery, the younger next door neighbor X Theo, her best friend’s father

Age gap, neighbors/ close proximity, best friend’s father/ son’s best friend, secret romance/ sneaking around

I think this is the first QB Tyler book I’ve finished, and she’s definitely in her element during spice scenes, but when it’s a non-sexual scene I’m just bored by the lackluster plot points. The spice was plentiful and good. Did I pick this book or did the fact that I’m ovulating pick this book- we may never know. The book was fine, but I picked it up and put it down so much because it was just crawling at times. I finished the book, but I wouldn’t read it again or read any other part of the series either.

Woooo

I thought it was good. 3/5 stars. Again, I got this book in need of something after Rivals. It was good, a little icky on the nicknames. Lucas is very weird, the whole book he acts like a lovesick puppy, and then at the end he says he hasn’t felt feelings for her for years ok. Rory and Lucas are a kind of weird combo, I thought Rory and justin should be together but whatever. Fine book ig.

This was a smutty good time. It only loses a star because I was a little surprised to realize that we were being thrown in a little in the midst of things. Avery and Theo already have a bit of a history that makes the insta-spice sensical but left me to play catch-up on the intricacies of who these two are as characters.

Luckily, the book is fleshed out throughout the rest, which allowed the book to hold onto its remaining four stars. Avery is a recent college graduate who knows exactly what she wants in life, and I loved that she never backed down from that. Even when everything started falling apart, she was unwavering in what she wanted from life and Theo specifically.

And Theo is such a good dad. And that sounds crazy considering he ends up with his son's best friend but he truly loves both his kids so wholly and completely; the way that he supported Rae, and put his ex in her place while doing it and even breaking things off with Avery when his son asked him too. Though I am glad that Lucas came around eventually.

All in all, it's a good time. It's taboo, it's spicy, it's forbidden, literally everything you'd expect from QB Tyler.

I did not enjoy this one as much as the first. It was another one with hardly any plot and lots of sex scenes which sadly didn't really move the plot forward much. As much as I liked Theo as a character, I really didn't like Avery and I'm not sure why. I just didn't care about their dilemma which was easy to solve, I won't be continuing the series.
