Historia autobiográfica contada de manera muy honesta y espontánea. Visualmente, me gustó la forma en que sacia algunos detalles en contraste con los espacios abiertos un tanto vacíos, eso ayuda mucho a la narración que se siente lejana (al ser contada por alguien más) y cercana a la vez (al tener elementos universales sobre crecer, querer, conocer, encontrar una identidad).

Very satisfying autobiographical comic. The artist uses a thin graphic pen that leads her to feature small details in the drawing (pimples on a face, for example, or crumbs on a plate). Absolute genius is Power Paola's rendering of textures. Each panel has lots of textures, plus hatching and cross-hatching for shadows. Lots to discover inside each of them. I also specially liked the full page panels introducing each chapter, very much inspired by Frida Kahlo's paintings: blood, tears, distortions, mythological animals, catholic imagery, lack of proper perspective to highlight hierarchies. Ecuador and Colombian are illustrated subtly but deftly. I can't wait for the next volumes!

So, so awesome. I hope the rest of her work gets translated or that my Spanish gets better so that I can read it. Definitely up there with the best of the best graphic memoirs.

Es un libro con unas ilustraciones increíbles, los cambios de colores de las páginas son muy bien manejados y la historia es muy buena y tiene un buen ritmo. Me hubiese gustado que fuera un poco más larga pero estuvo bien. Ahora quiero ver la película

Es diferente a todas las novelas gráficas que he leído, y no sé si fue porque la leí digital, pero me constó mucho seguir el hilo de varias cosas. Sentía que de pronto hablaban de una situación completamente diferente, y sentí que la historia terminó de tajo :c
