This is not my usual read; I tend to romance or sci-fi books (though I think this classifies on the borderline of sci-fi?) but it was highly recommended at our book club last month, so I decided to reserve the audiobook at our local library.

First of all, the audiobook narrator knocked it out of the park - usually, I don't pay too much attention to the narrator's voice, but this one did an excellent job keeping the pace moving quickly, and with it, the plot. Not to say that I felt rushed, but when you have multiple POVs of the same event happening simultaneously, it can get a little slow sometimes. Thankfully, I always felt that the plot was new and fresh, even if we knew what the outcome would be.

Needless to say, a book about everyone having a predicable 'ending' gave me a bit of a surprise ending, which I appreciated. I always love a good twist.
Though I felt like the epilogue dragged on quite a bit; the resolution being 10% of the book length was quite long, but not overly so.

I'm so torn on this one. It's a tough time to be reading it, with (American politics)
so many of the rights I assumed would last bring taken away from regular Americans, and with so much horrific discrimination against so many groups of people
but I also found one particular character absolutely deplorable and frustrating
Amy
and so that honestly took two stars off for me.

Absolutely devoured this book, great premise, made me think, kept me hooked.

Pretty derivative of They Both Die at the End.
