I think I may be done with this series. It's just not holding my interest anymore.

I did wonder how the momentum from the last book was going to continue, but Caine managed it with creepy computerAda.
I just wonder where the next will go

This wasn't my favorite book of the series. It wasn't because the book was boring. It was because it pulled out seemingly irrelevant characters and made them important focuses. I did not like Kim from the beginning. And I have to say Clair has a much stronger ability to hold her tongue than I thought, or I could. I did however, really enjoy the reassurance she received from Shane. The book over all was as easy to read as the others in the series, and enjoyable. I just did not care for the plot as much.

For the most part, this was another fun, danger-filled, and thrilling installment of the Morganville series. My big gripe is the fixation the characters have on the androgynous vampire, Pennywell. And, not on Pennywell the person, but the fact that they are gender non-conforming. Get over it and stop saying things like, "Oooo, you're freaky, I like it!" Book #6 hinted at this nonsense, too.
Hoping the author (rest in peace) has dealt with her obvious struggles with understanding gender identity by book #8 or else I might drop the series.

So far, bad as the previous ones. Ada is just a cheap jealous character, Myrnin a loony-tune (even though he is no longer "ill"). Everyone else is loosing their "shine" as well even if they still are more interesting to read than Claire and her non-advancement.
At least, heavens, we have no love triangle! ...yet?
