Wow, this story had me thinking the entire time I was reading it. We have four main characters Gabe, Sasha, Catherine, and Elyse. As the story progresses we are able to see different parts of their lives and how they are keeping secrets from those they love and at what costs they are willing to go to protect not only themselves but the ones they love as well. I will say the ending had me going Wow as I did not expect that. The things that were discussed in this book can easily happen today to teenagers, as there is an adult teacher who takes advantage of a young girl, a young man who is involved with a girl who will do anything to keep him, a young girl who is hiding so much of herself so that others cannot find out more about her, and a young girl who will go to any cost to keep the guy.

Omg this book was sooo good. When I went into reading it I knew like absolutely nothing about it except for what the back of the book said, which I personally think made it 10× better. I spent an entire day after school finishing this book since a friend of mine said it was exceptionally good. I wish I could reread it for the first time again, the moment when I realized the twist was the absolute best. Basically. This is one of the best books we've read in this class.

Both of them fell in love. Both of them were willing to give up their closest friends for it. Both of them realised the truth too late. Neither of them can escape it now.

I’m not going to lie, at first when I read there were 4 main characters I thought “Wow, I’m never going to be able to keep up with them.” But I found myself extremely surprised with how easy it was. At first -for a few chapters- I was a little confused, but I passed over that very fast.

This book started out kind of slow, so I did not expect to end up liking it. I like when a book is fast paced, but it picked up after a while. This book astounded me in so many ways it is hard to explain. I loved almost all of the characters and that never happens.

My absolute favorite part about this book was how at the end it all came together and I had the biggest Ah-ha moment of my life; ever. The second what was happening clicked in my brain I actually threw my book down and ran to my mom ranting and rambling at 100 mph. It was the biggest twist in book history and it was done so well. This part is genuinely what made me give it 5 stars. Without that part the book probably would’ve gotten a 4 from me, but the way this book was written, just wow.

Do I recommend this book? Yes. Absolutely. I can not say this about a lot of books, but this is something I would actually enjoy re reading. Typically a book is good but I’d never pick it up again, but this book had such an amazing plot I wouldn’t doubt if I re read it again soon.

"Lies You Never Told Me" starts as a typical Young Adult novel, telling the parallel stories of two teenagers, Elyse and Gabe, with their own unique teenager life drama, and living several miles apart from each other. The beginning of the book is so cute and calm that makes you wonder where the promised thriller and suspense is, since nothing particularly relevant happens. But then, by the time you reach page 50, things do get… tense. The whole time I kept wondering if those two stories would connect at some point, and how they could possibly be related to each other. What happens from then on is completely unexpected and surprising. This is a great YA thriller, full of unexpected twists, and one you won't be able to put down!

The way the storylines collide is what brings this up. Sasha's whole plotline is ridiculous. Not the fact that she is the abuser and Gabe the victim, but that we are expecting 16 year olds to be able to plot this indepth and pull it off so successfully to fool every adult and cops. Elyse's is actually far more plausible but still...okay, sure. After the storylines came together, I was actually happier with how the story was going, right up until Gabe laughs off another secret and just accepts it with a kiss. That brought it back down.
