“Maybe, or maybe I’m the fool, thinking I’d be living that fairytale of happily ever after.” Lukas opens my car door for me. “Nah, don’t give up on that. You know how fairytales go. You gotta kiss some frogs before you find the prince, right?”
Ivy & Lukas -
Ivy is blindsided when she discovers that her husband of 18 years has been having an affair for a year with a much younger woman.
Ivy's a pretty strong woman and with encouragement from her best friend, she decides she's going to get the tattoo she's always wanted. That's when she meets Lukas. Long hair, lots of tattoos & piercings, with the sweetest heart and soul you'll ever find. He's 24 to Ivy's 36 - and one look in her eyes and he felt that jolt that told him - she's the one.
He just has to convince her that the age difference is meaningless.
My negatives regarding this story revolve around Ivy's 18 year old daughter - the twist is ugh and I had a really hard time believing Macy would have done what she did. That's the only thing standing between my 4 star review and a 5 star review.

Tropes: Older Woman Younger Man.
Single parent (recently separated). Tattooed Hero.
This is my first book by Carian Cole and it defiantly won’t be my last! This book was recommend in a book group I’m part of and I’m so happy I read it.
Ivy (our heroine) recently single, after finding out her husband of 18 years has been cheating on her. Devistated and broken, her friend Gifts her a coupon for a tattoo. Something she’s always wanted to do for herself but never was able to in her marriage. Little did she know she would be tattooed by the sexy, swoony and possessive Lukas.
Lukas who is wiser then his 24 years, who has been broken and alone for a good portion of his life, is longing for a connection and to find that one person who is it for him, that person he can always count on for life. He is such a romantic and willing to do anything for Ivy.
There is an instant attraction between the two, almost as if they have known each other their whole lives. Ivy not ready for a relationship and worried about their age gap, pushes back on their connection at first. I loved how intense Lukas was, and was going to do what it takes to make her his. Their chemistry was off the freaking charts.
Throughout this story you get to see how supportive they are of each other. How their 12 year age gap is reallt “nothing but a number”, because These two understand each other on a level that no one else has. I simply just loved getting to see every moment of Lukas and Ivy together, and just falling in love with them along the way, this book really special.
The journey isn’t always easy, there’s people that try to come between them(one person specifically I was shocked by). There’s some decent twist and turns I didn’t see coming. but it is all They end up stronger then ever, and their story is just so beautifully captivating.
I defiantly recommend this book, and can’t wait to get to know more of the secondary characters.

I loved the older woman, younger man storyline I hate the insecurity part of it how she dwells on it. Maybe it wasn’t so bad but this female narrator I can’t stand. Sorry not sorry we all like what we like and she just doesn’t do it for me at all. The best part about her voice is her male voice.
The male narrator save the book for me he isn’t always my favorite but he isn’t as bad as the female.
This book follows the same timeline as the last one so we have that hard situation again and that will break you heart.
On to the next!

Ich habe „to love Storm“ und „to love Vandal“ geliebt. Dementsprechend waren meine Erwartungen an „to love Lukas“ sehr, sehr Hoch.

I just want more older women/ younger men books in my life. So far this author has been hitting all the tropes I fall for pretty hard. Now she just needs to write a FFM menage and then I'm set.

Divorcee older woman Ivy (she is 36) meets Lukas a younger man (he is 24). Oh holy hell (BTW is hell holy) anyway OMG I love “Chinese buffet” and Gargoyles! And, no I can’t say more because I don’t do spoilers but, if you want HOT, HAWT, HOT you need to read this book! Lukas makes me wish that the hubby was 24 again!
This book runs concurrently with Vandal the 2nd book in this series. I still have not had a chance to read Storm the 1st book in this series. I have Storm on my Kindle just waiting to be read. Now if I can just clear up some time from the reviews that I do on my blog.
Carian Cole had me crying again with some very emotional parts to Lukas. BTW I hate crying but, when I do I know that it is a really good story because it has me emotionally invested. I am really loving this series and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. I can’t wait to read more.
I was gifted a complimentary copy of Lukas for an honest review and I give Lukas 5 ★★★★★’s

Such a great love story. This book gives you so many feels!!!
The third book in the Ashes and Embers series was my favorite so far. The relationship of 24 tattoo artist Lukas and 36 year old mother Ivy was sweet and passionate. I loved how much Lukas cared for Ivy and his family and how they worked through all of their issues.
