A Novel Love Story felt more like a love letter to readers than it did a romance - and that just wasn’t what I was expecting.
There were lots of things I enjoyed about this story. I loved the magical realism, the idea of stumbling into a town that I’ve read about and just the comfort reading brings to us.
But there were also a few things I struggled with. I didn’t particularly care for the romance and I just didn’t believe it.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read but it didn’t meet the expectations I had going into it.

Maybe because I don’t read many romance novels, but I just LOVED this so much, it was so fun and easy to read & not corny to me at all

So I didn’t love it but it was cute. There were a lot of cutesie moments and relatable content. Overall it was a bit cheesy. When Anders fucking stayed for Bea at the last second I almost chucked my kindle across the planet. Ruined the entire book, honestly. Especially after he came back and Eileen welcomed him with open arms??? Nah.

This started a little slow for me and I thought about DNF-ing it, but I am glad I didn’t!

Books about fictional books are just not my thing. I hated the beginning and wanted to DNF so many times. Thank goodness the ending gave me some sense of the closure I wanted.
