I received this as an arc/alc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was an amazing second chance romance. It had such a wonderful flow and was just so well written. Weston and Isabella were characters that I couldn’t help loving, they had a great bond and so much chemistry. I just didn’t want their story to end.
Audiobook review: This was a joy to listen to. I loved it when the narration enhances my reading experience and this one did just that. The narrators did such a wonderful job capturing the emotions of the story and the characters.

Weston and Isabella's story is Everything! They met years ago and had an instant connection and they thought they had forever, until they didn't. Weston left with just a note and never looked back. Isabella has many, many reasons to guard her heart and keep her carefully crafted walls up around her heart, but moving to Cage Lake throws her a curveball she never saw coming. Weston has his own walls around his heart, but one look at Isabella again and he he feels them begin to crack. This is an emotional, sweet, danger filled roller coaster of a second chance romance complete with all the Cage banter you love! Small town life is never dull, and watching them find their way amongst all the nosy neighbors is great! I can't wait for the next in the series!
We're once again in the complicated lives of the Cage family. Navigating the siblings they never knew they had, continues to be a source of both stress and support for each and every one of them.
An Unexpected Everything brings us the story of Isabella, the eldest sister in this complex family dynamic.
I really enjoyed this second chance/brother's best friend novel.
The circumstances surrounding Isabella's relocation to Cage Lake and her chance encounter with her first love, Weston as well as discovering his connection to one of her newly found brothers is well crafted and kept me intrigued from start to finish.
If this is how the Cage stories are going to evolve, I'm all in!

An Unexpected Everything is a second chance, romantic suspense that I was hooked on from the start. Isabella and Weston have a past that gets rekindled when they see each other in the small town of Cage Lake. I loved that the way they were both protective and all about their family. The chemistry was strong between them and I liked getting to see them work out what happened between them in the past. The danger and the family drama and relationships made this book hard to put down, loved every moment.
Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton narrate this book in dual narration! Emma did an amazing job bringing Isabella’s strong sweet and vulnerable sides to life. Teddy was great at bringing the grumpy and protective personality. I loved this duo and both of their performances.
Thank you to Carrie Ann Ryan and her team for an advanced listen. Can’t wait for more of the Cage family!
An emotional reunion filled with heart and angst! The next book in Ryan's Cage Family series focuses on oldest sis from the "other" side of the fam, Isabella. She is powerful, opinionated and always looking out for her family. When she comes face to face with the man that left her behind all those years ago with no explanation, her emotions are churning like a roller coaster and she has to confront feelings she buried long ago. The main characters are really easy to like and the family that each of them brings into the picture are heartwarming and down-to-earth. I loved the way Ryan painted their worlds so that the reader could understand her pain, yet not hold anything against Weston for being a truly good guy in the end. I enjoyed their story from start to finish and can't wait to see more of the Cage's find their forever. Highly recommend!

An Unexpected Everything is the 2nd book in the Cage Family Series by Carrie Ann Ryan where we follow Isabella Cage Dixon and Weston Caldwell.
Weston Caldwell took over his father’s auto shop when his parents died and he raised is siblings – twin girls Sam and Sydney along with their brother Lance.
Isabella Cage Dixon is now working for Cage Industries as a forensic accountant. When an old enemy rears his head, Isabella goes up to Cage Lake which is a small town owned by their family and meets up with Weston Caldwell who left her unexpectedly after two blissful months together.
Isabella has a hard time trusting people and when she learns why Weston left she opens up slowly and they discover their feelings for each other have not changed.
The interactions between all the siblings, be they Caldwells or Cages, is awesome and when the enemy shows up it was great to see how they dealt with perpetrator.
Looking forward to the next book in the series!

An Unexpected Everything by Carrie Ann Ryan is yet another masterclass in emotional, soul-stirring romance. I don’t think there will ever come a day when this author doesn’t surprise me with the raw depth she pours into her characters and stories. With every turn of the page, I found myself drawn deeper into the world of the Cage family—and once again, I closed the book with that rare, fulfilling ache that only the best romances leave behind.
This is book two in The Cage Family series, and if you’ve read the first, you already know how layered and messy and real this family is. Eleven siblings, one father, two mothers, and a whole lot of heartbreak when secrets unravel after their father’s passing. Isabella, the eldest of her siblings came across in book one as steady and stoic—aloof even—but here, we finally peel back her layers. As a forensic accountant now working with her newly discovered siblings, Isabella is grounded in a life she’s grown to love. Loud, chaotic, supportive—her new family is everything.
But her past isn’t done with her yet.
When a stalker from years ago is released from prison, her family rallies around her for protection. Isabella ends up temporarily relocating to Cage Lake… the last place she ever expected to see the man who once shattered her heart.
Weston.
The only man she ever truly loved. The one who disappeared eight years ago after two perfect months—leaving nothing but a goodbye note. But there’s always more to the story, and when Isabella learns the devastating reason Weston left—giving up his dreams to raise his younger siblings and take over the family garage—their connection reignites like a flame that never truly burned out.
Watching Weston with his now 18-year-old twin sisters, Sydney and Sam, melted my heart. Their banter and sibling dynamic were absolute gold. And when you throw in the whole Cage crew? Chef’s kiss. It’s messy, it’s chaotic, it’s loving—it’s everything.
The second-chance romance between Weston and Isabella is spellbinding. Their chemistry, the passion, the way they gravitate back to each other like the years never passed—it’s all so achingly beautiful. But danger still looms, and time is ticking on Isabella’s return to the city.
This book has it all: passion, tension, a gripping suspense thread, family bonds that run deep, and a romance that reminds you love is always worth the risk.
And that epilogue? Perfection. Carrie Ann Ryan delivers once again.

**Audiobook Review**
I am so invested in the interesting circumstances and drama of the Cage Family. “An Unexpected Everything” is a swoony, romantic and action packed second chance romance that was a great addition to the series.
Isabella is one of the “other” Cages and has been getting to know her new siblings. Isabella is also trying to move on from a man that wanted to hurt her but he’s in another state. Until one morning, someone tries to grab her and threaten her. Needing to keep her safe, her brothers send her to Cage Lake for some healing and small town charm. And the last person she was expecting to see was her ex from eight years ago who left with only leaving a note behind. Weston Caldwell has his reasons for leaving and when he sees Isabella, the feelings they had for each other are still very much there. They have a shot at a second chance to be happy until Isabella’s past finds her in Cage Lake.
It’s been so great getting to know the Cages and Isabella’s story was great. She was the caregiver and worrier of her siblings growing up and that never stopped when they got older and more siblings were added to the mix. With the man in her past coming after her, she never wanted them to worry. Isabella was always willing to put herself second for the people she cares for. Weston is an amazing brother and even if he left only a note behind, I get why he did it and was easily forgiven. And the way the two saw each other again was the perfect way to start this second chance romance. I loved their banter and you could tell the feelings they had were still very much there. They tried to stay friends but once they gave into their feelings, we had some great steamy scenes. Once Isabella’s past found her, the action of it had me listening nonstop as it all unfolded. I loved the ending and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder were so great as Weston and Isabella. Teddy was amazing as the kind and protective Weston. Emma brought the caring and selfless Isabella alive perfectly. Teddy and Emma narrations were amazing and I loved listening to them bring this story to life.

Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again. "An Unexpected Everything" is everything I love in a romance—raw emotion, sizzling chemistry, family bonds, and a second chance that feels earned. I devoured this book in one sitting.
From the first page, I was hooked by Isabella’s heartbreak and strength. The way she carries the weight of her family while still standing tall makes her one of my favorite heroines in recent memory. And Weston? My heart ached for him. The mystery behind why he left and the emotional punch that explanation delivers is just so beautifully done.
The tension and chemistry between these two leap off the page. Every glance, every touch, every almost moment felt so charged, and when their truths come to light, it’s both gut-wrenching and healing. I also loved the small-town setting—it added warmth and a touch of magic, and the Cage family dynamic brought depth without ever overshadowing the romance.
This isn’t just a love story—it’s about timing, forgiveness, and what it really means to choose someone, even when it’s hard. If you love emotionally mature characters, a bit of suspense, and a deeply satisfying HEA, "An Unexpected Everything" delivers exactly that—and more.
I can’t wait to read more in the Cage Family series. Carrie Ann Ryan has a gift for writing stories that feel real, romantic, and unforgettable.

I really enjoyed getting to know Isabella and Weston better in this one as well as the town of Cage Lake. This is the second book in the series and it can be read as a standalone, though some of the family dynamics and growth of those is done in the first book. Everything that is needed to fully understand and enjoy this book is here and explained. Isabella and Weston have a past, though it is not one we were aware of previously. Isabella really never talks about it and it is something that still hurts for her. Weston left her with a note and she never really got the full story about what happened and changed from the plans they were making together. For Weston, his world was turned upside when his parents died in a car crash and he came back to Cage Lake for his younger siblings, leaving a note for Isabella not truly realizing at the time it would be the last time he saw her. Isabella is dealing with some things and having some problems and so her family sends her to Cage Lake to relax and that is when she runs into Weston for the first time in years. Isabella is attacked in a parking lot and it brings up and out the notes that she has been getting and the fact that the person who attacked her years ago is out of prison and so her family sends her to Cage Lake for protection and safety. It puts her and Weston in close proximity and gives them a chance for some closure, at least that's what they think initially, except the connection is still there. When Isabella learns the heartbreaking reason why Weston left her and that he has been raising his siblings, it changes things for her. They start spending time together again and getting to know each other as they are now, through the experiences that they have had in the years apart. I really enjoyed these two and watching them get their second chance. It is great to see the different side to Isabella, her softer side, that Weston brings out of her as she feels safe with him. This story was cute and emotional and very well done! I loved getting to meet and see more of Cage Lake as well as getting to know all the Cage's better. This was a great read and I am looking forward to what is coming next.
The narrators did a great job with the characters and bringing them to life as well as the story and all the secondary characters as well. I really enjoyed listening to it.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
