This series has had me captivated since I read the teaser novella. The family situation, the father controlling his family from the grave. When this series hits my kindle, nothing else matters.
Isabella is one of my favorite Carrie Ann Ryan characters to date, and giving her a second chance with Weston makes for a great story. They were together, and then they weren’t he only left a note. He lives in Cage Lake, and Isabella is there to regroup.
Not all is as it seems, and her overprotective brothers, new and old, jump to her side when a problem from the past reappears.
A great addition to the series, and I cannot wait for the next book.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Ever since the Cage family came into my orbit, I have been intrigued by what was to come. The dynamics in any family can be complicated, but 2 sets of siblings sharing the same father and discovering the newbies after said father has passed?!?!? Insert drama.
Isabella Cage Dixon's life is in enough of an upheaval trying to navigate new siblings and the terms of their fathers' will for their inheritance. Running into Weston Caldwell was not on her bingo card. Years ago she thought she would be spending the rest of her life with Weston, but he left her with a note. We find out why Weston left her and his dedication to ensuring that his siblings became upstanding individuals. Her feelings for Weston never went away and vice versa; they just shoved them deep down. Running into each other again brought up the feelings of anger, regret and pain all over again. As the oldest siblings, they both had heavy burdens to carry and work through. Getting their second chance was the unexpected piece of the puzzle that they needed to complete their forever.
Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton voiced Bella and Weston with such talent. I felt every emotion, all the feelings of anger and regret, and the relief that it was possible to get a second chance at spending the rest of forever together.
I received an advance copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

𝐀𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 is the 2nd book in the 𝘊𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 by Carrie Ann Ryan, featuring a spicy and emotional second chance romance for Isabella and Weston. She’s the eldest daughter in the “other” set of Cage siblings, always ready to step up for her family in whatever way they needed. With a family history full of secrets and drama, she never expected to need to run from her own secrets, and end up face to face with the man who lit her soul on fire and broke her heart without a word.
What a book! There are compelling characters, and then there are these amazing families and towns created by Carrie Ann Ryan that suck you in on an emotional journey and make you want to be part of their crew. I was captivated by the family dynamics, the witty banter, the raw emotions, riveting suspense, and absolutely explosive chemistry between Isabella and Weston! I loved that they both took on that parental role with their siblings, and those bonds were literary gold! Throw in a bit of heartache, danger, drama, and plenty of characters to look forward to, and you have a guaranteed must-read, as far as I’m concerned. I can’t wait to return to Cage Lake for more!!
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Isabella (Bella) and Weston’s story is about love, regrets and second chances. It also highlights family responsibilities and loyalties which come with lots of drama and chaos. Isabella and Weston were once young lovers planning a future together until the he left her behind without explanation. Both closed their hearts to new love, unable to forget the other or the pain of losing what they once had between them. Fate has brought them back together for a second chance at love if they can sort through the hurt, regret and anger, and are willing to make a fresh start. The attraction and hot chemistry is still very much present between them, so being just friends doesn’t seem possible. With another man from her past resurfacing and looking to make trouble, Isabella will be staying in Cage Lake for a bit. Can she and Weston put the past behind them and grab on to this second chance at love?
There is so much that I love about this book. First, is the small town setting. I love the gossip, the meddling and the supportive attitude in a small town, and Cage Lake delivers on these. Second, are the two main characters, Isabella and Weston. They are so darn lovable. They have both made sacrifices to support their family, have taken on roles of caregiver and fixer in their respective family, and have never forgotten each other in the eight years they have been apart. They are both the heart of their families. Third are their respective families. The siblings may squabble, snark and get angry, but they offer each other unconditional support, loyalty and love. Isabella and Weston’s story is a tad angsty and suspenseful with a few secrets and twists to make it even more fascinating. While there are some emotional moments that tug at your heart, there are also funny ones, as well as some very passionate ones to capture your full attention. This book was engaging from beginning to end and has my full, wholehearted recommendation.

An Unexpected Everything is the second installment in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Cage Family series. This time, she delivers a swoony second-chance romance with a single dad twist. A story full of emotion, heat, and the promise of a happily ever after.
Eight years ago, Weston Caldwell broke Isabella Cage Dixon’s heart. Since then, she’s built her life around family and responsibility, leaving no space for love or second chances. But when danger forces her to return to Cage Lake, she runs straight into the man she never thought she’d see again.
Weston was her first love—and the one who walked away without explanation. But their reunion is anything but simple. Weston faces the challenges of being a single father, but the spark between him and Isabella hasn’t faded. When life throws them back together, buried emotions, unanswered questions, and deep chemistry rise to the surface.
Isabella sacrificed her dreams and took on the role of protector for her siblings—even if it meant becoming a forensic accountant instead of following her own passion. Weston, too, knows the weight of responsibility. He’s spent the past eight years raising his siblings after a devastating turn of events shattered his future with Isabella.
Their reunion hits hard. The sparks are still there—maybe even stronger—but so are the scars. Being back in each other’s lives brings up old feelings, tough questions, and a bond that never really broke. Their love isn’t perfect—it’s messy and real, filled with growth and learning to forgive. It’s about figuring things out and knowing that true love doesn’t never dies.
When danger from the past rears its ugly head, Isabella and Weston have to protect more than their hearts. The suspense doesn’t overwhelm the romance, but it definitely keeps you turning the pages.
Set against the backdrop of a close-knit small town and woven with themes of healing, forgiveness, and found family, An Unexpected Everything explores whether love can survive time, distance, and heartbreak—and whether two people who were once everything to each other can be that again.

This is the second full book in this Cage family series (there is also a prequel that sets up the series), focusing on Isabella Cage Dixon. She is the eldest sibling of the family that found out they were the “other” family only upon their father’s death. She now has another 7 other siblings, like the 4 she had weren’t enough already!
The trauma of her past comes back to haunt her, so she temporarily moves to Cage Lake… where she runs smack into her past when she meets up with her past love, Weston Caldwell, who is another brother’s best friend. Oh the web of intrigue, secrets and complications.
This book is full of chemistry, mystery and second chances. It is a fabulous series, a wonderful book and leaves you desperate for more, as this amazing storyteller continues to weave a mesmerising narrative of family, friends and community.

I really love when a character that tends to control everything is forced to step back and let things be controlled by someone else. When that then forced them to also reconnect with someone that could have been everything if circumstances were different before. Grumpy/ Grumpy all day long! Yeah you know you are in for a wild ride! I greatly enjoyed getting to know Weston and Isabella and watching their story come together. As it is with my love for interconnected standalones with big families getting to know more about the Cage family as a whole is drawing me into the series even more each book.

An Unexpected Everything is the second book in the Cage Family series and it is one of perfection. I love second chance romances and Ms. Ryan delivers a story filled with a couple of twists, two families that have been thrown together after the death of their father and two people who loved, lost and found love again. Her writing style pulls you in right from the start with the intrigue of Bella and Weston's story, as well as the person who is haunting her in her dreams and real life.
Bella and Weston have s history that ended with broken hearts and now they are face to face in Cage Lake. Weston left years ago and broke Bella's heart. Bella is trying to deal with the revelation about her family and another one her father had. Now she has two families of siblings whom she wants to get to know, She is also dealing with a past that haunts her dreams and real life. Can being back in Cage Lake and facing the only man she has ever loved and broke her heart, help her heal and breathe?
I loved how Weston knew he wanted Bella back and did everything in his power to show her that she was the woman for him. Bella's heart wanted him but he hurt her in the past and she is hesitant to let him in. The chemistry between them was perfect. The love that they had never really gone away but was smoldering under the surface.

The storytelling in this read draws you in and keeps you riveted to the end. And along the way there are some smoking hot moments that warm your heart and your libido. The Cages may be rich but the Cage Dixons were just middle class. Isabella is now coming to terms with influence and having so many more brothers. And when she visits the small town of Cage Lake and runs into the man who broke her heart her mind is blown. Emotions run high for this couple, but it may actually help to have small town nosy neighbors to talk to, and lots of family. Loved this read!
Isabella is having a very bad day. Okay things lately have been a little crazy what with finding out her father had another whole family and her mother knew and didn’t say anything. She’s now working for her new found brothers and might have a little case of imposter syndrome happening. When she’s attacked her over protective family sends her to Cage Lake, the small town in the mountains that her new brothers own most of. That’s when life hands her another bombshell. Weston Caldwell. The only man shes ever loved. The one who left with no word or explanation. And whoo what a reunion. These two are made for each other.
Another fantastically steamy romance from Carrie Ann Ryan.
