There was a lot of cringing on behalf of the FMC and I found her quite tough to love. He was great though and I enjoyed their dynamic. I liked the growth.

As someone well versed in internet culture and the worlds of gaming, having a video game streamer boyfriend sounds like a damn dream and this book was my chance to enjoy that.
I commend the author on connecting important narratives of family and expectations, friendship, and senses of loss into a lighthearted story about frenemies turned lovers. Okay, but I had never seen the execution of frenemies to lovers and I quite liked it. Unique twists like that will always get my attention.
However, I found myself waiting for the big moments of the story with a grand gesture that would have me swooning. There weren't any and that's what makes a romance something I can't help but follow. So, Lily and Tobin were so cute and I was waiting for something to take them to the next level, but they couldn't defeat the final boss: my high expectations.

This was such an adorable story. While the frenemies turn lovers plot is not original, the book was engaging and grabbed my attention at the outset. The way the story was set against the backdrop of social media influencing offered a different perspective and made the story more interesting.

I picked this book up because I was looking for something quick to listen to while I was at my second job, I wasn't sure what to expect because I had never read anything from this author and I hadn't heard much about it. I very quickly was pulled into this world with the nerd heard and all of the influencer talk that I know nothing about. This book was pretty much the definition of a rom com IMO. I really loved both MC's, their banter and chemistry was great. This book is full of fun troupes (frienemies to lovers, only one bed to name a few). It is steamy, but not overly sweet or swoony, and funny. I also really loved the friend group. There were a few things that took me out of the story, but ultimately I really loved this book! I'm fairly certain this is going to be a part of a series and I'm very excited to see where this goes.
