Naomi and JD had a one night stand that resulted in a pregnancy.

They decided to keep the baby and get married.

After the marriage, instead of a honeymoon, JD went off on a mission undercover (as his job requires him to).

Not a great start to a marriage.

The book shows us both sides of the story: Naomi wanting to build a relationship but as much as she knows JD's work takes him away from home, her heart wishes for something else. For her partner to be with her, to support her in her pregnancy and be there in this journey with her, a journey that will ensure a happy marriage and a happy home for their baby.

I liked JD. He wasn’t trying to run away from his responsibilities. He went after Naomi with the intention to be a husband to her.

I enjoyed the twist of JD and Naomi working together on one of JD's cases. It forced them to be with one another, learn each other's strengths and weakness, to accept one another and really give this relationship a chance.

I loved Naomi's strength in the book.

A very satisfying novel form Zara Keane.

I received an Arc in exchange for an honest review.
