J’ai lu la version français. Un peu difficile parce que je ne connais pas le français trop bien.

Reading this in Geneva, at my friend's house will forever be a happy memory.
It's a pretty quick read and I definitely got nostalgia reading it as I used to watch the show as a kid.

This is one of my favourite Tintin adventures so far and I am gradually warming quite a lot to Herge's style and pace. I have no idea why it has taken me so long to get into a character and story arc which I can see, visually, was decades ahead of its time and whose stories relate so strongly to the history within which they are set. Echoes of the concerns of the Cold War are here in abundance as Professor Calculus is kidnapped so that the secrets regarding his machine that can destroy objects with sound waves can be harnessed for destruction.
Again Herne, seemingly effortlessly, combines serious action-adventure with deft humour.
