holy shit. don’t read this fucking book. it’s amazing and thought provoking, and it does what Agustina intended it to do. It’s horrifying, sickening, disturbing, disgusting, visceral grotesque. so we’ll written that i never want to read it again.

I give this book a 4.75 I really wanted to give it five stars but there were some parts where I wanted more world building rather than just the main characters personal problems. Insanely disturbing, literally nothing to bring you even a shred of joy or resolution, especially not after those last couple pages. TW: Everything

This book is very fucked up, but I enjoyed it. The type of dystopia that makes you say wtf? The author has a way of making sure details aren't left out which I enjoyed.

A challenging read for its content but still had the note of being believable in the current world should the same thing have happened.

Really pulled you in to keep reading and find out what was going to happen to the main character.

An absolutely horrifying book that I read in one sitting. It felt impossible to put down. I agree with another review I saw saying that you had to suspend some disbelief about the world building. Some of the plot elements like the Scavengers and the widespread conformity felt unrealistic, but other parts, like how different generations would react to this new world, felt very real. Many parts of this book, including the ending, absolutely broke my heart. You kind of feel for Marcos but also know he's 100% a villain in this world too.
