Good, and funny, but too long for what it is. He makes a lot of good points, and I appreciate how he highlights how even John McCain was treated poorly by the RNC and Bush's team, because a lot of people forget about that primary, and it was bad.
I have had this book on my bookshelf for probably 10 years and just recently pulled it off the shelf to read after I had listened to his audiobook of "Giant of The Senate".
Interesting to read it now, 13 years after it was first published as the political landscape has in some ways has stayed the same, in other ways, has worsened.
Written prior to him becoming a Senator from Minnesota, he takes on the right wing media, their personalities and the absurdity it was becoming. It certainly has stood the test of time.

This book tells it like it is in a very funny way. Even the stuff that should not be funny.
This book is definitely a fair and balanced look at the right -- if you hate Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich. Very entertaining, but sadly there is probably more truth than comedy to this book.
Listen to the audiobook. What better way to understand it all than Franken's nasal voice? "Operation Ignore" can not be forgotten. Also the penultimate chapter about Leave No Child Behind reminds me of Rage Against the Machine's Millionaire music video directed by Michael Moore. Can't neglect the fact that Bob Jones University is also BJU.
It’s interesting to read this now in the light of the Trump presidency and the #metoo movement. Clearly right wing nonsense has been going on for a long time. It’s not all Trump’s fault. And Franken often has the sense of humor and sensitivity to women of a troubled twelve year old boy. I’m guessing most people wouldn’t make many of these jokes any more. He’s smart and well informed and generally funny, but he also has a neoliberal streak. Best thing about the book is the breakdown and fact checking of right wingers like O’Reilly and Coulter.
I learned some interesting factoids, but since he was preaching to the choir, I didn't learn anything revolutionary. I appreciate that he is able to remind us how screwed up we are without being a total negative bummer. I get my bummer news from the paper every day anyway.
Takes a look at the liberal bias in the media and finds it's mostly a for-profit bias. Takes on conservative media and proponents one by one and knocks them over.
While Franken seems intelligent and funny, some of this just winds up being mean which I don't think serves to further political discourse in the country. And, I know, it's not meant to. It's meant to make him money and was published a number of years ago.
Hopefully, we can move beyond this style of political commentary and begin to communicate without rancor.

The text is fun and illuminating, but at some point it just seems like more finger-pointing. I could provbably have done better with a few vignettes rather than a 375-page book.
