A bit too preachy, a bit too common-sense...not that common sense is a bad thing, but that I have already thought of most ideas in the book and I'm no expert on child rearing.
Still, it is nice to have some validation of things that I have felt instinctually all along.

As with most of the parenting books I've read, I think the message conveyed is great, but the manner in which it's conveyed is annoying. Redundant, pedantic, pollyannish...

Not a bad book, just not quite what I was expecting and I was pretty underwhelmed. I liked the idea of creating little rhythms and rituals. Everything this book said on technology - screen time, tv, social media, etc - seemed extremely out of date and I was surprised that this was updated in 2016.

I think the content and overall approach deserves a 4 star rating. I just wish I could have gotten in a few pages of a PDF. The book felt long and drawn out to back up some very important ideas and conclusions.
