Absolutely loved! Can’t wait to read more by this author. Perfect balance of romance, while still be historical fiction.

I’m just not in my historical romance era
Sebastian and Annabelle were an interesting pairing for this novel, with the story revolving around a suffragist trying to win support of the Duke for her cause. The author did a fantastic job setting up the historical aspects of this series, and I appreciated the authors note at the end explaining historical liberties taken with the book. I would rate this book a 2.75/5 spice level given there were open door scenes, but they were mild and didn't start until about 70% through the book.
very modern historical romance!
I loved that conflict of the book wasn't some stupid misunderstanding, but a realistic problems. Cleverly written and enjoyable read

3.5 stars. Where to begin... as a proclaimed feminist book, it definitely failed. More often than not, I found myself confused and frustrated that Annabelle would so easily adjust her morals or accept things said to her for a and from a man. While 30% of the book, I thought was great feminist spirit, as soon as the romance began, I felt like that was all lost.
On the romance side of it... well, it was a contemporary romance set in the late 1800s (if that makes sense). The romance was pretty superficial but I don’t want to spoil too much.
Why would I rate it 3.5 then? Cause I was intrigued and hooked enough to finish it. I think it passes as a romance, the feminist bit just leaves me wanting more.

I mean who doesn't love a good regency/victorian
romance? This book was salacious and smart and
wholly lovely to read; I couldn't put it down! I loved
these characters but I'm equally excited to move on to
the next books in this trilogy and see what badassery
the suffragists muck up.

Cute! Felt like there was too much back and forth over the same issue that was separating this couple though. Will be reading the others in this series though.
