This is supposedly a classic.
OK, the ringworld itself is a fun concept, but hardly makes up for the dead prose, boring plot and dreadful characterisation.
There's some good sci-fi ideas here, but the exposition is incredibly laboured in all cases. Much of the core technology is handwaved, which would normally be frustrating, but is largely a relief given the above.
I got to the end, but that's probably more to do with my own personality flaw of being unable to give up on a book once started. For anyone stuck halfway thorough - no it doesn't get any better.

7/10
adventurous lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix

Just not my favorite genre...

Pretty typical for 70s sci-fi

Fun read, will look for more Niven :)

i migtj come back to this in like 20 yrs we’ll see

Weird for sure. Imaginative characters. Some of the engineering talk slowed me down; I’m sure those well versed in that subject area find it very interesting. Definitely sexist in how women are portrayed and their value. Typical of the time it was written.
adventurous funny medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Tiene ideas muy interesante como los humanos de la suerte y el resto de especies alienígenas pero fuera de eso es un libro que no recomiendo para nada.
