Larry Niven is in my opinion one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time. This book was my introduction to his writing, and I have since read nearly everything he has written, especially in the universe to which the Ringworld belongs.
This is one of the most sexist sci-fi novels I've ever had the displeasure of picking up. The concept is great but the characters are incredibly forgettable and I really can't see the vision in all of the female alien species being non-sentient.
Graphic: Sexism, Sexual content, Slavery, Xenophobia
Minor: Rape
Would be 4 stars, but the author's views on women are incredibly concerning, even for something written in 1970. The actually sci-fi stuff was really good though.

Any book which mentions eugenics before the 30 page mark is probably not a book I'm going to enjoy. Ringworld seems a little... dated for my taste.

Read for the Among Others bibliography but also because it's a classic of the SF genre.
I found the concept 0f the Ringworld really interesting, as well as the interplay between the various alien species. However, I didn't really care about the characters and reading this book was pretty tedious.
I have a few other Larry Niven books on my list, but I don't think any of them are Ringworld-related, and if I don't read any other Ringworld books, I will be okay with that.

Lighthearted, enjoyable book, a bit dated in its humor but not so often that it can't be ignored. Definitely some tropes at play, but the campiness adds to the fun and lighthearted nature.
There's surprisingly hard Sci-fi bits almost constantly throughout the story. It's a bit jarring at times but interesting.
I will be checking out the next one and seeing where the story goes.

A bit old school but a good concept overall.
