I desperately wanted to give this more stars. I have loved this series but this book felt … unfinished ?
It was really slow right up until the last 200 odd pages. The plot twists towards the end and the ending as a whole were good.
But, as far as I’m aware, this is the last of the serieswhat happened to Thea? Did she become a vampire? What of their child? Just simply, wtf happened
There was some things that needed to be addressed that weren’t and I almost feel unfulfilled. After four books I expected all questions to be answered.
But overall I did really enjoy this series. The lore was in depth and made for such a good read as there was so many things to learn, that all banded together. The plot twists I didn’t see coming 90% of the time. It was a fluffy but dark romance if that even makes sense?? Quite a bit of smut but with a fantasy element that made it different from normal romance smut. But I didn’t find it too overwhelming as other books that focus quite heavily on smut scenes. What I really did enjoy was the multiple POV’s. That added thrill and gave perspectives that you don’t typically see from it just being one or two of the main characters POV.
I think that if you don’t deal well with too much information, then this isn’t for you. Similarly I’d start with an easier fantasy read like; powerless by Lauren Roberts before delving into this. If you prefer just one POV or struggle with two, then this probably isn’t for you either.
I’d class it as high fantasy just due to all the lore and background of all the magical creatures that are within this books timeline.

I definitely enjoyed this book a lot more than the third book. I am not a personal fan of young pregnancy tropes (they met like 6 months ago!!!) but other than that I thought this book was a good conclusion to the main couple’s story. It left room to continue the worldbuilding with future couples and storylines. I also enjoyed the battle scenes and plot twist that I actually was surprised by. I have preordered the new series already and will still be continuing with this author.
