WTF happened to this series?! This book was awful for about 3/4's of it. The first three books were so enjoyable I figured I'd break down and buy physical copies. Thank God I didn't yet!
If all you want is a HEA conclusion to a series you're fine. You get it.
But if you were hoping for good flow, interesting plot, fun twists, enjoyable characters, and well balanced spice like you got in the first 3 books...sorry you're SOL.
This was a really big let down. We had characters that started getting their own fleshed out storylines but for no reason, it didn't add to the story at all. We might like these characters but giving them 100% of the focus is pointless at the end if the series. They could have had their stuff wrapped up without being in the spotlight.
And I love me some spice...but this had spice thrown in at the most ludicrous moments! And way more frequently then was necessary or made sense for this story.
The FMC and the MMC turned into insipid and annoying versions of characters that I had loved in the first 3 books for a majority of this book.
The plot was all over the place, it was not cohesive, and there was so much filler thrown in that I was baffled half the time. I think it might have been to set up the next spinoff series, but dude.... drop hints or give us brief but poignant moments instead of runaway chapters that completely upset the balance of the story.
I'm not gonna lie I almost DNF'd this book. And it was so bad I'm about 90% sure I won't be reading the Fae spinoff series. When you know an author is capable of writing some truly amazing books, something like this is a bug disappointment.

This finale to Thea & Julian's story? (I'm assuming the author is going to continue the series with Lysander's story?) This book was about 200 pages too long and dragged on. The series of 4 books probably could've been told in two books. Too many side stories that started going somewhere and then didn't. There were repetitive phrases (caught her lip with her teeth, chewed on her lower lip, teeth sank to her lower lip, licked my lower lip, bit my lip) used so much I thought I was reading the same page again. Drawn out story on the three queens, crowns, and Thea taking her place while enemies are trying to kill her while she & Julian are bound together and soul mates as she tries to harness and use her magic. Not really interested in reading anything else by this author

I’m DNFing for now - I’m so bored. It’s giving Zodiac academy where there’s never ending issues and little resolutions.
