I enjoyed it. I read the book in just a few hours, it was an intriguing story and it made me feel good to be supporting another Indie Author. I definitely recommend and may even give it to my 12 year old to read.

Destiny Awaits by Jaida Shaw
Mystery, action, shapshifting, mystical and romantic, this book has that and more.
Alayna Scott has just moved into her house in Juniper Grove. She had enough money to pay cash for the house as her parents had died in the car crash.
Jayden MacKnight has been tending to the yard work and shows up every day to help out. He has a major interest in her.
There is a rose garden with a fountain that brings her peace.
She can see visions of past and future things, her destiny as her mother had once told her. She gets attacked and others come to her rescue and because of the blood the family is not sure what will become of her, what creature and attributes she will get from both creatures. So they keep an eye on her.
Some of her powers have started and the family try to explain it all to her and what to expect in the future.
Love how the explanations are so true to what is going on in their lives.
Some of the clan show up to help but it be not be enough...
So many good memories of her parents are brought out by others who also care for her. They are all going to have to learn
The kitchen scenes bring a smile to my face as I do bake and love doing it.
Lot of strange things happen and things get worse for Alayna.

Enjoyable and sweet

I liked it from start to end, the plot was good and I liked it was panthers and not wolves like it usually is in paranormal books.

Loved the characters the relationship though felt super rushed as if they had been together much longer than they actually were. And I loved that the shifters weren't werewolves but big cats like lions, panthers and others.

Alayna Scott had lost her parents and know she needed a fresh start. Moving to Juniper Grove felt right to Alayna, little did she know that something about this town was quite different. She meets her neighbor Jayden McKnight who she feels a connection to. When a vampire sets his sight on his next victim, Alayna everything goes awry.

Great book. This had a very different twist for a vampire/shifter story. I liked that Alayna was a strong heroine who i think could easily have been broken. Jayden's dedication to Alayna is swoon worthy. Look forward to the next book in the series.

Free Kindle e-book in exchange for an honest review as part of the Indie June author month.

I had to DNF this book at 28%. Anyone who knows me would be surprised as I am stubborn and I try to at least finish it.

The beginning was very weird and ambiguous. It feels like she is a minor when the accident happens (of course we find out later she is not). What is she running away from? I found it hard to believe Jayden would just say the full account of what happened to his sister to a complete stranger.

I give this book 1 out of 5 stars as I found it too cringey and had to DNF it. I might return to it later and try again. If that happens, I will update my review.

[Because I gave it 1 star rating, I will not be posting the video review on my Tiktok.]

Received from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for honest review

Alayna loses her family after car accident. She decides to move away, to have a new start in Juniper Grove.

On her first day in new town she meet Jayden, who assists her in fixing up garden behind the house. They grow very close. There is a curfew in town, that Alayna was not aware of, so one night she goes for a walk and gets attacked by vampire. Jayden saves her and the truth comes out.

There is a lot going on in the town, but Alayna herself is not totally ignorant to the supernatural. She get vision of the future and past, when she look in the water.

I love the story, the idea of the story, but wasn't fan of the way it was written. I missed depth, more showing, feeling, development.

Adult version of vampire diaries

This book gave me so many vampire diaries, the originals, and legacies vibes. This story centers around A maybe who has lost both of her parents in a tragic car accident. She moves and finds the world she lives in is not all that she thought it would be. There are shifters and vampires that live in her new town and you never know what will happen when that combination is together.
