This book wasn’t as compelling as the first in the series. I enjoyed that sub plot more about what the aliens were ACTUALLY up to and what was going on. I liked the character of Akin. But I felt the story dragged for awhile in the center. There was a small slog in between that I didn’t feel in the first one. I enjoyed learning about what was happening with the resisters and such.

Ok so I couldn’t wait. I had to see what happened next.

The ideas are just as good in this one but I found the story less compelling. I’m hoping it was mostly good setup for the third and final book?

Passion of the Christ

Simply amazing!!! Phoenix rising from the ashes. I'm excited to read the final book and it's unlikely but this trilogy would make a great miniseries (it would definitely be a more enjoyable watch than a lot of scifi shows).

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first in the series. I appreciate the commentary on human being's flaw to return to hierarchical structure, but I had much more trouble following the alien aspects in this one. I think the problem is most of the Oankali and Ooloi don't have developed personalities, so it was difficult to tell them apart (or really care about them as characters). I do plan on reading the third book as I am still invested in the series!

No mucho que decir con respecto al anterior excepto porque Akin me pareció un personaje mucho más desarrollado o comprensible que Lilith ¿?
Una decepción que se narrara tan superficialmente la estadía de Akin en la nave

What does it mean to be human in a world where nothing is the same? Somehow this story feels like a coming of age book, and a post-apocalyptic thriller, and a social commentary on relationships and dynamics? Amazing.

While I liked this book, I didn't feel as captivated in the story as I did with the first in the series. The story tended to drag a bit in Part II and almost seemed to move too fast in Part IV.
