Oof, I whipped through this wintery adventure! I really hope people (but definitely booksellers and kids) love this book when it publishes, it has so much heart and April is such a wonderful character. The final few lines were really special too.

A sweet little book that my son also enjoyed.

This is such a cute book about finding your voice. I love the way the book focuses on how small changes make a bigger difference than taking no action at all, especially when it comes to climate change.

Denne likte eg!

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This is SO PRETTY. Inside and out. Honestly, my first thought on seeing the book is that the art is even more stunning in person. And the naked hardback has amazing gold foiling. The story is equally as lovely - with illustrations to match.

We focus on April, who is on a small island in the Arctic circle with her father. She discovers a bear is on the island, even though he shouldn't be - there are no other bears and too far from food. April is such a fab main character, she's sweet, caring and brave. She really wants to find the bear and then help him, and honestly it's so wholesome.

Bear also feels like a proper character, not just an animal. He is tentative but wonderful.

The whole story of them becoming friends, and then April realising that she can help more is just heartwarming. Even when it's a little nerve-wracking, you are filled with confidence that it will all work out in the end.

I highly recommend this book, 4.5 stars.
