I loved his other book, but this one was a major miss for me. It felt like he was trying to live up to his book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, and just couldn’t do it
I didn't take many new things from this book like I did from Manson's other one... but! I learnt some damn interesting stuff about some pretty icon people. Also the title doesn't shock me because it's how I feel/what I have realised and don't fuss over too much (or try not). It was still a great listen on my daily commute because of Manson's entertaining style.

breaks down a lot of complex philosophy into a digestible reflection and message that i think everyone should spending time reading
the funniest part was him connecting kant and nietzsche knowing damn well that has both of them rolling in their graves

I'm a big fan of Mark Manson's work. I know he isn't for everyone, and I completely understand that. When it comes to self-improvement and similar topics, it's more about finding what works for you.
I love the stories he puts in to get his point across and the no-fluffy-cloud approach he takes. After reading his books, I feel a strong push to get up and invent the life that I want.

Every time I read a Mark Manson book I wish that I had figured out how to mash up Chuck Palahniuk with every theorist I read about in college.

General Overview
An interesting read, and one that was deeply moving at points. With what could be the bleakest of reads, Everything is F*cked: A Book About Hope, by [a:Mark Manson|8529755|Mark Manson|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1410365708p2/8529755.jpg] is a self aware read, that skirts that fine line between genius and 'ImSuperCoolandSMART' very well.
Style
Written as though it were a conversation, Mr Manson has a very personable, and somewhat blunt style of writing. It is effective and appropriate for the subject matter however. Hey also tells great tales and stories to highlight the points he is trying to make.
Story
From the stories of a Polish spy in WW2, to the life of a philosopher, and the authors own experience, this books travels through a vast breadth of human experience to talk about some of the deepest truthes of it. There is not such thing as hope or justice, you live and die, and everything else is just the dressing you give to it.
I read some, went away to think on it, and repeated till I reached the end. The turn near the end, where this does move to a book about hope, instead of just a gloomy look at the cruelty and futility of man, came at the right point.
Final Thoughts
Thought provoking, and well put together, this book is perfect alongside any meditation, or contemplation you may be doing. A worthwhile read, highlighting a lot of home truths, and parts of the human psyche.

Of course the nihilist in me was drawn to the Everything Is F*cked title.
If you are familiar with this type of philosophy, then there really isn’t much new information or perspectives here. This is very much optimistic nihilism.
Mark Manson interestingly poses what if Newton’s Law applied to our emotions instead of to motion. And I do agree that X (Twitter) is one of the greatest evils next to death, disease, hatred and envy lol, there are some humorous moments in here.
