still love the series and the characters but...

i really like the characters especially Leonidas, Mica, Beck, and Yumi. Alisa is rather annoying in this book. Aleberdaus has always been annoying and i don't get why he is still on the ship or still in Alisa's head. why hasn't she asked the other starseers to make him stop or reprimand him or teach her to block it or something? i mean, either do something to prevent it or stop complaining about it already. (i feel that way about most things. vent/rant once or twice then either do something or shut up about it.)

Spoiler
too much romancey type stuff. like sexy scenes that feel weird. the innuendos and jokes increase by like tenfold and the kissing and stuff did as well. like i am all for fixing Leonidas' erectile dysfunction and sex drive (which i figured out was the reason he didn't get the innuendos or return Alisa's affections by book 3/4) soo very much of the dialogue and chapters deal with it. sigh. i don't mind romance but none her other action adventure series has this much . it doesn't flow with the style of this type of book. it just felt weird and too much.

also it seems Alisa got really bad at plotting schemes. and doesn't utilize her starseers or cyborg effectively a LOT in this book. which doesn't jive since there are also instances when she comes up with brilliant schemes that go awry (of course) but at least make sense and use everybody's skillz.

Spoiler
she should be able to figure out how to get Tiang to talk to the Alliance folks and convince them he is not drugged and wants to stay aboard her ship. either a secured meeting or even just having Tiang talk to them for longer than 5 minutes.

another thing that doesn't make sense is how folks keep trying to blow up their ship or the place they are when there are people on board the others want. that makes no sense. the alliance, tym, imperials. even the treasure hunting androids attacking them before securing the staff. and shouldn't they be able to scan and see if it is nearby???
...

still recommend this series and these books though. 8 books with 6 short stories bound to be a few stinkers.

I really like this series but I have a problem with how Alisa's questionable morals are never really addressed or fully challenged. There's always an excuse then it moves on.

It was ok. A little boring maybe as it it just more of the same a all the previous books in the series. Sure we finally get some proression on 2 major plot points - being Leo's surgery and Jelena's recovery but for all that is just felt like a repeat of the previous books and not in a good way. Also I found
Spoiler Stanislav's death abrupt and felt like that whole plot point was seriously under utilised. I am actually kind of hoping he is not dead but has been picked up by Tim and will make a reappearance.
