I'm not even into punk, but this book got me hooked. Such a fascinating slice of history.

If "don't meet your idols" was a book this would be it. Wild but very interesting. I think it'd be good to have some general knowledge about punk/rock history and the figures who played a role in it before reading this book.

Very interesting oral history of the New York punk rock scene in the 70s. It is interesting to hear about it from people who lived it, though it can be gossipy. I would recommend learning a little bit about the bands involved before reading this oral history, just because of the gossip factor but overall, very cool book.
