3.8 AVERAGE

3.5 ⭐️ This book was a breath of fresh air, exactly what I wanted a baseball romance, and on top of it a second chance romance.

3.5 stars. It was a cute silly romance I read for the romanceathon readathon. Gotta love KU!

Very mixed feelings I thought the book itself was good but the story was a bit ehh. The childhood sweethearts who had only know each other/been together for THREE MONTHS she hasn’t heard a single thing abt him
for FOURTEEN YEARS IS MARRIED THEN BREAKS UP WOTH HER HUSBAND THE FIRST TIME SHE HEARS ABOUT HIM. also his behavior was a lot sketchy and kinda icky. Though the grand gesture was great for both of them! (He bought her a house (years ago) and she did her whole public will you be my boyfriend thing which was cute)

Jupiter met Marnie while in high school and even though they were opposites, they became inseparable.  Until Jupiter was ready to head to the MLB draft and Marnie was looking at letting go of her dreams.  So Jupiter let her go.  But for 14 years, he has wanted her.  Finally he is getting what he wants as he pulls out all the stops to get her to New York working with his current baseball team.

Something about summer screams needing to read a baseball story. I am loving how this series is being set up with this story.  It took me a minute to get a feel for this story, but man oh man, once it got going, I was really enjoying myself.   A tattooed baseball player doing everything he can for his second chance.

This was my first narration with Patrick Zeller and Mia Madison. They were both great choices for Marnie and Jupiter.  The audio version was included with my Audible subscription but now I want more of this series and these narrators.

Didn’t really feel a connection between the two MCs. I also feel like the FMC gave in too quickly. Needed more groveling from MMC.

I love a baseball romance and loved how this book included a woman in science as well. I struggled with Jupiter’s rather…persistent behavior and his unwillingness to communicate about the past, but disliking a character’s behavior doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the story. He was sure confident in himself and his love for Marn!

I really enjoyed this book and watching Jupiter and Marnie fall back in love!
I did knock off a star, as I felt that  the book didn’t need to include so much sexual content from the flashback perspective of two minors in high school, as this felt  inappropriate to me.
I also wish that the author showed more baseball knowledge and understanding. I did love how dedicated Jupiter was in getting Marnie back and all the little things that showed he never stopped loving her!
