The names. Just no.

This whole thing, this trope, this vibe just sung to a deep dark part of my soul and I just want more! Its 4.5 stars and I would have given it 5* if he suffered just ever so slightly more but the whole gd thing was delicious. This is the first thing I’ve read by this author but I’ll def be picking up others!

Also, dual timeline AND dual POV for those of you that may (or may not) like that.

LOVED Jupiters obsession with Marnie, spice was there, but felt something missing after their reunion.

I enjoyed reading my first Lulu Malone book. This new-to-me author kept my attention with unexpected paths in Jupiter and Marnie’s second chance at happiness.

I loved that the characters were now in their 30’s with some life experience. Jupiter’s determination to get Marnie back was both swoon-inducing and cringe-worthy. Initially, he wasn’t willing to give Marnie any space and she felt her life was out of control as a result. I didn’t feel this approach would be very conducive to reigniting her love for him. All it did was ignite her temper, but she definitely wasn’t ignoring his existence anymore!

The author convinced me Jupiter’s decision to break up with Marnie after he was drafted needed to happen, definitely not as cruelly as he did it though. But, why did he wait 14 years to try to find her? Why hadn’t he kept track of her in the intervening years?

I would have enjoyed having chapters included in the storyline showing Jupiter requiring Marnie to be found and hired by the Lions, and then Marnie getting the job offer and how she found out about Jupiter being with the team. All of this takes place before the present portion of the story picks up and is just quickly referenced in dialogue when Marnie meets Lowe and Beulah.

I had mixed emotions about Marnie - I understand the choices she made as a 16 year old and her frustration and fear when Jupiter lands back into her life. Plenty of juicy emotional angst to keep me glued to my kindle.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I did experience some frustration when I figured out that while this book was the first in this new series, it was closely associated with previous books in related series by the author.

I received a free ARC from the author and Valentine PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

The premise of this book, on paper, seemed like it was meant for me! Unfortunately, it was just okay. Alot of little things bugged me. But, mostly the flashback chapters and the dialogue. It wasn't the flashbacks themselves. It was sweet to see them as young teens and falling in love, even if the chapters were too long. But did skip over the parts when they became sexually active. Then, the dialogue. When it was Jupiter and his teammates or family.. idk how to explain it but it just didn't feel genuine and it was cringe at times What did love was the baseball aspect! As a baseball fan, it had a perfect amount of the sport to balance out the romance. I think there was one little thing that wasn't completely accurate but overall, I enjoyed this part. also liked how Lowe and Buehlah embraced Marnie from the start, and she had her own little found family with them.

The Third Baseman is the first book I’ve ever read from Lulu Moore and it is also the first book in the New York Lions series. I really enjoyed this one and can’t wait to read more from Lulu. If you are a fan of Lulu’s and have read previous books from her, you might recognize the hero here, Jupiter Reeves. I can’t wait to go back and read Drew to get to know Drew and Emerson better. Jupiter is Emerson’s brother.

Jupiter and Marnie were so great together! You could feel their connection from the very start. These two met as teenagers and the chemistry and connection was undeniable. It was so strong between them, and it was clear that each of them cared so much about the other. Being kids, they didn’t handle things the best, so I was glad to see them have a second chance as adults after living a bit of life first. It was clear that these two had never let go and that despite all they had been through, the feelings were still every bit as strong as they always were.

Jupiter had some ground to make up here, and I enjoyed seeing him do that. He wasn’t shy about his feelings for Marnie and I absolutely loved that. He was sweet and caring, sexy and persistent, going after what he wanted unapologetically. I just loved the characters here and really enjoyed reading this story. If you are a fan of sports romance or second chance romance, this is definitely one you’ll want to pick up! I am really looking forward to more from Lulu Moore!

Jupiter Reeves is the High School hottie, followed around by a gaggle of girls with only 1 dream. To be drafted by the Dodgers. No distractions. Marnie is the nerdy space girl, with dreams of MIT and NASA. These two are worlds apart but when her green eyes meet his, hes lost in her. They spend time exploring the stars & each other. They have a whirlwind romance. Its beautiful, romantic, and so so special. They gave each other their hearts. Until the day Jupiter breaks hers and walks away. Leaving his.

Fast forward 14years & Marn is freshly divorced and has taken a job working with the New York Lions Baseball team. Jupe may have pulled some strings to get her there. Back in his world. He lost her once & now he is determined to win her back.

‘I was so affected by her, it was more than an addiction, and it came with no cure. I needed to touch her wherever I could, whenever I could, because I’d go crazy if I didn’t. Claim her. Own her. Make her mine.’

I felt the sorrow Marnie did, the doubts and hesitation. But I also felt how strong Jupes love was. With his cock sure attitude, gorgeous tattooed body & huge.. heart. I laughed through tears. He does everything in his power to show Marnie how much he still loves her. These two were definitely written in the stars & made for each other. I was on my knees for Jupe throughout the whole book. And that magical mouth
