I saw this book all over bookstagram and I love me some second chance romance books. But this one missed the mark for me. It was slow burn, which I usually love, but it just wasn’t done right in my opinion. And I was told that Jupiter was a grump more than his actions.

I don’t usually connect so well with second chance romances, but this book completely stole my heart.
Written in dual timelines, The Third Baseman features Jupiter trying to win back Marnie after breaking her heart 14 years ago. She was the genius girl next door with her head in the stars to him being the popular baseball player. He breaks up with her the day he gets drafted.
Marnie has never fully gotten over the break up, so the present portion of the book rightfully shows A LOT of Jupiter groveling. The past features the sweetest opposites attract high school sweetheart romances. There’s heart & spice & a fantastic grand gesture. I adored every

I absolutely LOVED this book! The spice and the banter between Jupiter and Marnie was fabulous.
The story does take place in past and present timelines, (I happen to enjoy reading flashbacks). Jupiter and Marnie were high school sweethearts until he gets drafted into the MLB and breaks her heart. They don’t see each other for 14 years

2.5⭐️ personally wasn’t a big fan of Jupiter. I found him to be annoying and immature
This book was a little different then I anticipated but it was super cute. I was expecting more spice and less fluff. That being said I think it effected my rating. The flashbacks set me back because I’m not into reading about 16 year olds loosing their v cards. But the MMC made me cackle and the present day made up for it. 3.5 stars.

What a read!!!!! The first time I’ve read this author and I’m going back to read all her books! Loved loved loved this book! It had me from page 1! Love second chance romance and this had it all - drama, love, spice and two amazing characters to live laugh and love with! Recommend!!! 5 stars!!!!
