4.5 ⭐️’s!!!
Flashbacks are hit or miss for me but with this it was a definite hit! I also realized how little I read second chance romance. I quite enjoyed this!
The book didn’t beat around the bush in the present day. No waiting or slow burn just straight into it and I loved that. The flashbacks slowed it down where it needed and it didn’t need anything extra to slow.
Marnie is such a great character I wanted to be her when I was younger as in the space nerd but I still want to be her even now as a wannabe WAG! Am I right? I’m right.
Jupiter. My favorite planet and now my favorite baseball player. Get your ass over here, I will be adding you to my collection of book boyfriends THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

By the time I closed this book, my heart was just so very happy.
Marnie and Jupiter’s story, in a nutshell is: high school sweethearts ➡️ the biggest heartbreak ➡️ the best second chance love story.
This book was angsty and sweet and infuriating and spicy (the all-consuming, intense spicy I absolutely love!) and just perfect.
Are these characters perfect? No. Do they always make the best decisions? No. But that’s why I think these two characters resonated with me so much.
This book is dual POV and has regular flashbacks to show the start of Marnie and Jupiter’s love in high school (about 14 years prior). The absolute adoration and lust and love these two had for each other was the sweetest. And seeing how that translates 14 years later? Even better.

This book was fine. There were some moments that I really liked - nerding out over the stars was one - but for the most part this was a little underwhelming. And I actually preferred the chapters set in the past because it really showed Jupiter and Marnie falling in love. In the present it felt more like Jupiter would just decide how something was gonna go and that's that. It didn't necessarily work for me all the time but other people might be just fine with it.

I was so excited for Jupiter's story after the ending of The Show that I started this book immediately, and it did not disappoint. I quickly fell in love with Marnie and Jupiter's love story. It was everything you could want in a second chance.
Marnie is intelligent, quiet, and a little bit shy. I loved watching her blossom during her new job. Of course the girls took her right under the wing, and I loved the friendships that came out of it. Jupiter is broody, confident, and cocky. He goes after what he wants and what he wants is Marnie.
I loved the tension and the sentimental moments that happened between these two from the lifesavers to the telescope to the stars. It was all so sweet and romantic. The chemistry between these two is also off the charts.
Oh my god the ending had me cackling, but it was just so perfect for them. I loved every single minute of it. I can't wait for the next book in the New York Players series.
