I received this from Valentine PR in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lulu Moore’s writing just hooks me from the beginning every time.

Jupiter Reeves is grumpy, covered in tattoos, and arguably the best third baseman around. Jupiter has played his entire career for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and has an opportunity to play for the New York Lions, and be close to the girl who stole his heart 14 years earlier. They were high school sweethearts, and Jupiter broke Marnie’s heart.

Marnie Matthew’s works for the New York Lions, and isn’t too happy about Jupiter coming to play for them. Marnie wants nothing to do with Jupiter. Jupiter becomes a bit obsessed with getting her back.

This book has it all
  • second chances
  • Grumpy/ sunshine
  • Sports romance
  • Dual pov
  • Flashbacks to high school relationship

Jupiter and Marnie are everything!!! I already knew from "The Show" given what Jupiter was plotting to get her back that I was going to love him, but he exceeded those expectations in this book. And it was even more swoony when we learned his why from all those years ago. I love that Marnie was stubborn at first and gave him a hard time, as far as she knew, he deserved it for breaking her heart. But when they get everything out in the open and her (very valid) fears are explained, I was so happy she realized their love was worth it. I loved so many things about this book but I don't want to name them all and spoil anything, but I will say the nickname and the tattoos were so cute. Also, the way the girls took her immediately into their friend group warmed my heart! The grand gesture!!! I'm not usually a huge fan of second chance love and timeline jumps/flashbacks are typically frustrating, but I love how this was written. I can't wait to read more from Lulu! Thank you to Valentine PR for this ARC!O

Lulu’s books are so fun to read and are filled with all the swoon. Second chance romance with flashbacks are one of my favorite tropes and I really loved how she incorporated those chapters. Their relationship progressed faster than I expected in the present time and I wish it would have been a little more of a slow burn for personal preference. If you are a romance fan haven’t read Lulu’s books, what are you waiting for?!

🪐 “He’s become a completely different person since you arrived, like he’s suddenly developed a personality beyond moody fucker.”

✨ “Starlight, star bright, you were the first star I saw tonight. Wish I may, wish I might, have this kiss with you tonight.”

🪐 “His gaze bored into mine, eyes shining brighter than a supernova.”

✨ “The spring sunshine had brought more of his freckles out, like the stars at an indigo twilight.”

🪐 “I’d seen him with his shirt off; I’d stroked over the definitions of his muscles, but I definitely hadn’t been looking properly. I swear I’d seen lesser mortals in my books on Greek Gods. Though I guess Jupiter was a God, a Roman God. The Roman King of Gods, of sky and of thunder… and he looked every single inch of it.”

✨ “The Stars Don’t Look Bigger, But They Sure Look Brighter.”

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝:
- Jupiter’s nickname Star for Marnie
- The tattoos! His entire body, the milky way & her cloud 🥺

𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:
This book was absolutely beautifully written. Jupiter & Marnie wrecked me in the best ways possible! I loved getting to know all of the characters and seeing the flashbacks of their relationship timeline. This was my second book by Lulu 🫣 so I cannot wait to check her others to meet some of the side characters from this one. The banter with the Marnie & Jupiter was probably my favorite thing in the book. Marnie is such a strong, fiery FMC that really knows how to hold her ground. Jupiter Reeves really gives a WHOLE ass new meaning to stars & constellation tattoos (let’s be real, ALL tattooed men) and I am legit here for it. 👏🏼

I can’t wait for the rest of this series and hope his friends Stone and Jensen have their own stories.

This was my first Lulu Moore and a baseball romance that I liked. It’s dual POV and dual timeline that takes you on the journey of Marnie and Jupiter’s relationship that began in high school. This is full of second chances and was a pretty quick read. My favorite characters were Stone and Emerson and I’m not sure I’ll continue the series, but this was a perfect read for the start of baseball season!

Arc:  Great read loved the story of high school
Romance and how Jupiter was so in love with his star!  Truly excellent writing and I’m a baseball mom so I loved that aspect!  Jupiter and Marni romance was definitely one for the books!  Loved how there was no real second act breakup.  Loved how strong they both were and loved how hard he loved!  Jupiter was truly my favorite character!  No one else existed except for Marni just loved that!
