I love ibsen!!! what a great play about women and the pressures they face because of men making decisions for them. Nora slays because she realizes she can live her own life and that she needs to explore who she is and what she wants to do!! educate yourself girly!!
Read for uni - wasn’t the most exciting read but I can relate so much to Nora and her relationship with Helmer and the troubles I faced in my previous relationship. This was nicely portrayed by Ibsen and would like to thing that he is a strong feminist xxx

It astounds me how Ibsen could write a scathing masterpiece on the perils of marriage under patriarchy in less than 100 pages. Wonderful.

I was questioning why the play is called "The Doll House" until the last 20mins of it, and it made perfectly clear why. Ibsen was not playing around about the title.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by a cast so it was like listening to an actual play on stage, with soun effects and audience reactions. There were funny dialogues and scenes that were light-hearted and made the story more entertaining. The main character who is portrayed as a foolish spoiled woman who knows nothing about the world. Just like a doll. The final 20mins gives her the revelation why she is that way.The whole story revolves around a woman trapped without her knowing in a patriarchal society finally coming to understand the women's place in the society and marriage which baffles her.

I read this online in about an hour or two, and a couple months after reading Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles. This play was like THE antidote to that book, in my mind: the growth of Nora and the exposure of her husband as a patronizing, shallow and controlling man (who, when the going gets rough, plans to live away from his wife instead of trying to help her fix their perceived financial/social ruin). Her final goodbye to him is what I wish Tess would have told Angel when he freaked out about her secret after they were married. Tell that man of so little understanding, "I must stand quite alone, if I am to understand myself and everything about me. It is for that reason that I cannot remain with you any longer"!

Fun experience thinking this Torvald guy kinda sucks, but maybe that's just how it was back in the day and then his wife was like hey Torvald you kinda suck actually. Cool stuff
